A small smile. "I do."

A sigh "I.. I know you mean what you say to ME Da, but..I'm not sure it helps. I'm sorry." Glum "Let's just go home"

"I know. I'm sorry." Gently. Indeed, they are almost there.

He pulls into the parking lot, kills the engine, and walks with her up to the Lodge.

She scuffs and slumps her way in.

"Here, have a seat. I'll make hot chocolate."

"Not thirsty nor hungry. " SHe looks about, but oes not see her mom, or Aunt Kerri

There are noises in the kitchen.

"Mom?"

Putting-away-dishes kind of noises.

Frank was heading there anyway. "Brekke? Kerri?"

Kerri peeks in after Siv calls. "The Chieftain's on patrol. How was the party, Siv?" she asks with a smile.

Frank makes a gesture, and fortunately, only Kerri can see his face.

Siv's face is a picture of misery "Terrible."

Dagmar is scrubbing a pot with a single-minded focus.

"Terrible? What's terrible?"

Apparently, she cannot talk and scrub at the same time. Or listen and scrub.

A confused look at Frank's gesture, dawning realization at Siv's response, and then a glance back to Dagmar. "Still need to put a little elbow grease into that one." Still standing in the doorway, she asks Siv, "Anything I can do?"

"I made damn fool of myself is all..." tries to stay stoic but it's cracking "The only boy who notied me at all thought i was too tall, and ... well, there were sidhe girls nearby so that made me ugly, but even the non sidhe there were beautyies and... I ... I was.." She hides her face under a mop of hair

Frank's face is a picture of misery.

Belatedly starts scrubbing again. "Sidhe are the inhumanly pretty ones, right?"

"You're pretty." Matter of fact.

A slow exhale. "Sidhe parties are the worst. Look, c'mon in here, we can do kitchen-talk."

"i..." Soft smile, "Thanks, Dagmar, but I'm not feeling it. " A nod to Kerri, "I'd lilke that, please. Da's...da's trying to help and i'm not being very fair to him"

"Being pretty ain't worth it. Boys are grabby."

"I might want to be grabbed a little..." Sulk and she goes in after Kerri

Grunts. "No, you don't."

Frank moves out of the way, and then backs off, still frowning.

A small grin from Kerri. "Being grabbed is fine if it's by the right person and at the right time. The absence of either of those is a whole different situation. You missed a spot." To Dagmar.

"Frank, you're welcome to join us, but I warn you, this threatens to venture into Girl Talk."

Grumble. Scrub.

"I wouldn't want to intrude. Do you know where Brekke is?"

"On patrol, she said she wanted to check the area around the public playground. She's got the dogs with her."

Frank nods and slips out of the kitchen.

Kerri sets about preparing a glass of ginger ale and a small plate of cookies for Siv, and another plate of cookies and Dagmar's preferred drink (which player has forgotten) for her. "You can leave the rest for now, Dagmar, I can take care of them later. Okay, Siv, what happened?"

'pretty much what I said... I went to the party all dressed and ...you know, i thought fetching. But there were these sidhe girls there and suddenly I faded to invisiblity. Not a lad noting me at all. I... they made me look ugly to stand next to."

Dagmar cheerfully abandons the pot and goes over to join.

"But you aren't ugly."

"It's all relative... some boy walked by, looked t me, first one to NOTICEE...s aid.. he said I was 'too tall'"

"You absolutely aren't ugly," Kerri agrees, then sighs. "But I know how it can feel to be surrounded by The Shining Ones. Did I tell you I was fostered in a sidhe hold?"

"Hmph. What a loser. Want me to punch him?"

"Hmph....what he meant was that he felt too short, and that's his particular damage, not your fault."

"I..didn' know that" Suddenly she laughs a bit, and hugs Dagmar

"Um - hey?" Is hugged.

but the smile fades "It's...you were surrounded by sidhe?" To Kerri

"Ha! Merely 'surrounded' would have been challenging enough. I was the low man on the totem pole, as a new chrysalid. No title, no house, commoner-kith...when I wasn't being trained by my mentor, I was tasked to serve wherever I could."

"Sounds ego crushing" She says "Sttill you're beautiful enough to at least out do the ugliest sidhe I bet. Even then"

"Honestly, Siv, you gonna be like Sylvi now? All caught up in makeup and shit?"
