"Sometimes the moon and sun geet along even though they ain't all that much alike..." There's a WHISK as a chimerical arrow... misses Dagmar's head by inches!

And THAT they notice

She blinks, and looks around for the source of the arrow.

three figures, looking like short twisty tree men, armed with bows that appear to be part of them, and arrows in a quiver are spotted. The wood the creatures are made of is not healthy, but rather decayed lumber

Siv repositions the buckler in her hand and pulls out her blade. "the real flyswatter nearby?"

She lumbers to her feet, grabbing the mock flyswatter. "Nah, upstairs."

"Dandy I don't know what these things are, but they're out to kill us so don't hold back" And she taps Dagmar on the shoulder "THARE SHE BLOWS!" GLamour engulfs Dagmar, and Dagmar is hopscotching through the air down down towards.. hey, she's landing in the middle of the three rightn ext to them them!

Dagmar lets out a surprised yell, but... rolls with it, bringing the practice polearm crashing down with her...

And it smashes a chunk out of one of the creatures.

She gets a vicious grin, and wheels into another swing - looking rather like Big Blue Babe Ruth.

As she swings at the next,it fires, and hits her true...right before she shatters it

The twisted woodlings are confused, "Master say only one, she alone, if we strike fast enough, theree are too there are.."

"Siv Waveborne, and finding out I've been ignored is not putting me in a good mood. Oh wait, you hurt me crewmate! I was going to you for that anyhow!" Siv closes the gap and slashes at one, nicking a groove into it

"Aw, fuck." As it shatters. A shrug, and she swings with a fist.

The fist connects and she strikes the groove Siv made and breaks it further!

Enouh for Siv to strike the third and final carving blow on it.

She raises a fist high in the air, and brings it roaring down. "DAGMAR SMASH."

Dagmar's fist meets the third one and it's bow..and part of it's arm!

It takes the sharp part of that arm and shovesit forrward into... SIV.. she wasn't the target, the goal, but she struck it at the same time and...

Hearing something that doesn't quite sound like normal combat, Brekke comes out the back door of the lodge, the dogs Oak and Edelweiss at her heels.

Well the padding is ruined, and some blood fflows but..

The Dogs suddenly SNARL.. Enemy!

Dagmar's amber eyes see red, and she picks up the third gremlin-tree-stump-creature.

Brekke's eyes go wide and she charges to meet the fray, pulling Speaker from her belt....

She can't get a shot at the only one still moving without hitting Dagmar as well, but she's ready if she can hit clear and clean.

With a guttural yell, she pulls on its leg in one hand, arm in the other...

And tears it apart!

Running alongside the dogs is a pup that has been tagging along... so that’s where he got off too. Seeing a jolly good fight- wait, is that blood? Connor dashes forward, yapping at the top of his lungs, and tries to bite one of the trees attacked by Siv! BAD STICK! BAD! Oh, it’s already twitching it’s leafy death throws... but still, his throat bubbles with growls!

The the creature says , not in the whiney wooden vice it had earlier, but in a whispering rasp "You will never herald her return. You will nev.." And the wood crumbles like the decayed chimerical lumber it is.

When her vision clears, Dagmar drops the crumbling bits of wood.

A blink at the brute force damage. She lowers her weapon and scowls at the dying one's last words. Putting Speaker back on her belt, she says, "That is enough, Buddy, but good job. Good work, Oak and Edelweiss. Dagmar, Siv, are you well?"

He wags his tail, continuing to worry at the branch for another moment to make sure it’s dead- then picks up a piece large enough that his head tilts sideways and prances around with it held in jaws. Hero!

"I had paddin, so just a prick of blood is all, got worse sewing" Is down playing enough to trigger a Gwyd boon?

"Dagmar's hurt worse than I.." that rings true

"They shot an arrow...."

A pause. "I'm hurt?"

"I don't feel hurt..."

"Come inside, let me see and heal." She grabs a piece of the shattered chimera, and helps both girls back to the Lodge if they need it. "Where did they come from?"

"you fought through the first shot like a bloody berserk of legend"

"The woods." Dagmar falters, and looks back at the shattered remnants of her practice weapon. She bites on her lower lip.

The bits of shatterd CHimera decay rapidly until nothing is left

ANd... she still has an arrow sticking out of her side. It seems to be stopping the blood!

Brekke spots the arrow as well as Dagmar turns to look at the woods, and curses low in Norwegian. "Inside, quickly."

As the arrow is disolving, that might be wise.

Siv is going inside the dogs patrol about outside. There WILL BE NO MORE AMBUSHES tonight, not on THEIR watch. Grrr

THough the pooka has confused them. What's his rank in the pack? SHould they grab him by the scruff and tuck him somehwere?

"Buddy! With us. Help the wounded warriors." Brekke has clamped a hand at Dagmar's side as the last of the arrow dissolves away, and urges the pooka inside. "Now."

He looks confused as his stick dissolves, and turns in a circle a few times, looking for it... and Oak and Edelweiss probably want to play... (oh, he gladly flops over and waves submissive tum for the hounds, easygoing pup that he is)... but heads in when Brekke uses her Boss Voice.

"But I'm okay?" She follows.

"You have a hole in you and.. mom's hand is what's keeping you from bleeding further"
