Siv goes looking for her father, "Dad? Da? " Testing another title 'Dadarino?"

Jaymes finds the bag left for him, and raises a brow, "What the... huh" and he opens it.

Inside is a little glass bottle with a slightly flaky gilt spray top. "MOUNTAIN MUSK!" the label declares!

Beneath, there is a picture of a lumberjack surrounded by pine trees on a mountaintop. He has a beard AND an axe. Manly!

"Mountain Musk?" He pauses, then carefully, opens it, and takes a sniff

If Axe and Pine-sol had a bastard child, this might be its sweat.

"Wow. " He observes "Why would she get me a ..." A realization settles in and , a smile storms across his face.

He takes a bit of a dab, and sprinkles it on his neck.

A SMALL dab

well... it doesn't burn.

Though it does tingle.

"well, if a rash forms I'll discontinue"

But he smiles anyway. "Huh."

Well, if all else fails it might strip the old wallpaper...

"Do I... uh.." He looks around, "Dagmar? You about?"

...No, it doesn't seem so.

Mmm

He decides to take the gift to his bathroom.

and the often stoic fellow smiles for the rest of the day. Even if he may be getting a rash.

Olgar for his part has been somewhat spoiled today, or at least, he's noticed the 'honeydew' list is remarkably short

"Oh, father-dearest!" Sylvi's voice chirps sweetly from somewhere in the 'Hold. "Where aaaaare youuuu???"

"Father dearest is reading the sports section over here" He calls back, "Something on your mind, fruit of my loins?"

"First...ew." Sylvi comes out of the kitchen with her hands behind her back. "But second, I have a surprise for you."

"If this involves seltzer water, I'm going to be very cross with you and murder Vali for the influence"

He has put the paper down

She pauses. "Note to self: Dad has zero sense of humor." She comes over and hands him a flat box with a bow, and kisses his cheek. "Happy Father's Day."

Olgar takes the box with a smile on his ugly mug, a smile that grows wider when his daughter kisses his cheek, "The holiday that falls somewhere behind Arbor day and you remembered. I'm touched. Thanks honey."

"You kidding? I live for this day. Open the gift." She smiles.

The ogre's big fingers start removing the wrapping sloooowly, methodically, cautiously.

Sylvi seems to take delight in his excessive caution. Tradition is everything.

and finally, the wraping slides off, and he opens the container.

And pulls out whatever comes out

"Ha" He laughs "Dad smash"

He has about a split second to appreciate it before she says, "And, this." And puts a large cupcake on the table in front of him. Hulk-green frosting, purple cake.

"awwww" He smiles, "Hold on, I'm going to risk getting this dirty" Olgar dutifully puts the tie on first, then before eating his cupcake instead gives a side hug to his daughter. THen, turns the side hug into a tickle "Thank you, Rugmonster"

She gives him a squeezy hug in return, then yelps as the tickling and embarrassing nicknames start. "Daaaaad!" She giggles and disengages from the attack, taking a seat next to him to appreciate the tie. "Looks good. Someday you should wear all of them at once."

"Yeah, I'll look like a gargoyle lion with a tye dyed mane," A chuckle from him, "But who knows, maybe?"

"Maybe there's enough of them to make a hula skirt? But on second thought, no. Ew." She wrinkles her nose. "No offense. Oh, mom said to tell you I probably won't poison you with the cupcake."

"Well, your mom knows that if I die, she'll be left with the debt, so I trust her," A smile, "And you."

A pleased look, then mock-serious. "Don't trust me too much. I swear, this year for Mid-summer I will stay up later than you, and when you fall asleep I'm going to draw all sorts of stuff on your face. Just wait!"

"You've been trying that for what, " He takes the cupcake "THree years now? And not once have you got the old man off guard" Smirk

"It's gonna happen. I can feel it." Confident nod.

He bites the cupcake, and he clearly likes the taste, "mmmm tastes it belongs in the mouth of an undefeated champion" wink

She rolls her eyes, then innocently says, "Got milk?" Blink blink.

Olgar laughs and wipes at his mouth
