"But Siv...please understand...we do not know what you are doing unless you tell us. We could certainly find out if we wished...but we are trying to give you some independence. So...remember that, if there is ever a situation that you need help with, we will not know if you do not tell us." A hint of pleading.

"I..." A bite on her bottom lip, "I.. I won't betray your trust. And... I thank you."

"You're welcome, Siv. And.... thank -you.-"

A grin, and Brekke gets up from her seat and comes around the table to give her daughter a long hug. "Thank you, Siv."

Hugs are given, first to mom, and then to dad

He puts down his mug when she is on approach, and wraps his arms around her, still able to rest his chin on the top of her head. "Fishie."

A soft chuckle at father and daughter.

A chuckle "Daaa" But smiles rather than fusses

"Sorry-not-sorry." He murmurs. "Be patient with us. We're trying."

"I know, and I love you for it" A kiss on daddy's brow

(Tuesday Night, the supposed time of the skinny dipping) Siv comes in earlier than expected, muttering grumbling to herself

She is wet, but dressed.

And she gives her parents a nose wrinkle as she sees them enjoying coffee at the table

A blink. "Siv. You...are dripping." Brekke gets up to get a towel from the linen closet and bring it to the girl.

Frank stands as well.

"Is everything ok? We ... didn't expect you home. Yet."

"Are you all right?"

"You and Da are...if I thought for one moment..." A sigh "Since you did trust me, fine. I was invited to a skinnny dipping party. I wasn't the only girl there... and it looked like some playful fun where no real harm would be done. THEN someone had to... well, it was asked since I wasn't a DeBuke, where was a I from, and you both ruined it. Don't care if it doesn't make sense. The other two girls pulled off , well, plenty in the water. Bu now I wasn't just Siv. I was Siv of Rivervale. And suddenly it mattered whaat I did because it might reflect on this place and you, and what folks thought, and OUR honor and... argh! I made excuses and left, and hope you're both very happy" Obviously NOT hopping they're happy but there you go

Frank looks lost.

Brekke's eyes go very wide. "I...Siv..."

She looks to Frank, confused.

"What did we do?" Asking for clarification.

A snort "You made me all honorable and... valuing your trust and.. argh. It's a trick I think, but I can't prove it. And I love you both but argggh!" She stomps up the stairs, her voice calling down "I should have been unseelie, but noooooo....had to raise me Summer.."

He watches her go, baffled, and looks at Brekke. "What did we do?" Asking again.

An expression that's caught somewhere between puzzled and pleased. "We raised an honorable daughter. I think."

Eventually, Kerri and Sally Mae may both get an earful, and one of them can explain it to the parents, though it seems Brekke is catching on .

"What?"

Brekke sits in her chair heavily, the tension suddenly lifted, and positively grins over at Frank. "She was going to follow the crowd...but did not, because of the risk to her reputation as a member of the Lodge."

His own grin answers, automatically, even if the rest of him still needs to catch up. "Her.... reputation?"

" 'Siv of Rivervale' does not risk her Lodge's honor through her frivolous behavior." She toasts him with her coffee cup.

He toasts her back, but looks up the stairs. "She didn't seem...happy about it."

"No...but I think she will be in the long run." A sigh and grin.

"Oh... okay." Still a bit lost.

An amused glance at him.

"Is this a girl thing?"

"Perhaps. She controlled her urges." she offers by way of further clarification.

"I still don't approve of her -having- urges." Frank points out in a low rumble, but he retakes his seat.

"Outside of our control, My Heart."

"Doesn't mean I won't worry about it."

"Well...the outcome of this night means that I, at least, will worry a bit less."

"Then I will too."

Siv is playing music loud again, but it's not her ANGRY music, more her confusion music. teen angst to suss out. Do not disturb

Frank glances up the stairs.

A glance up the stairs, and then a sigh and a smile to Frank. "She will be fine."

"Ok." He's still a bit lost but... he is comfortable following her lead.

Another sip of coffee, and another contented sigh. All is right with the Lodge tonight.

Frank settles next to her, and sips his own, content in her contentment.
