Then a slow nod, looking away. "You...may be right."

"I will do it, if you wish... but you should take her to the doctor." Quietly. "Or with Sally Mae if you feel it would be safer."

A deep breath, still looking away, and another nod. "I know Kerri knows...." A pause. "I will see who she recommends."

Frank nods. "The other wilders... they know Siv. They know what to watch for. If she needs help.... they'll be there."

"And we'll be there, as much as she lets us."

She looks up to the rafters and takes a deep breath, nodding.

Frank kneels beside her. "Perhaps, if it's her peers finding, catching, and saving her instead of us.... perhaps that will make a difference?"

Another nod, her jaw tight. "No, you are right. it is simply...difficult. We have fought so hard for her...but no. You are right. I have been trying to let her make these steps...and it was easier to speak of it near Beltane...but this is...this is more."

He nods, eyes full.

Coming down the steps, "Okay, I've done my history home work, but I have to tell you, imortant as he was, Henry Ford bores me to tears. Not one good sword fight"

Siv's voice

"Right. Then..." She turns to look at the incoming daughter, jaw still tense.

Frank bows his head and rubs his eyes, breathing in.

She comes down fully into view 'or even a pistol duel. "

Clearing her throat. "Yes...he did not interest me much when I studied him, either."

"Ah, it's not just me then" She smiles "Don't worry, still gave it my best go"

Wiping his hand on his jeans, Frank rises and goes back to get his coffee.

"Good. That is all we ask."

She watches Frank go, then says, "Speaking of studying...I will be joining you on the Farmhold trips for a while, when possible. Clem will be helping me with the last stages of Primal."

"Ma, that's grand! You'll be getting it no time I'm sure, welll, not NO time, but there you go! You're not so long in the tooth you cann't go learning something new. "

An eyebrow. "Why, thank you. I think."

Frank chokes a little on the sip he's taken.

"Oh ssorry, you know what i mean"

"At any rate...i hope you will not mind the company."

"Why would I? You'll be studying in your own area of the farm so mostly we'll just talk on the trod."

A nod. "And I look forward to that. What is the next day you go up, Siv?"

"Next tuesdday, was gonna be monday, but memorial day or th like."

"We've done a small ceremony here, followed by a meal, for a few years. Mountain Vegard started the tradition."

"Yes, you should be here for that."

"It'll be my first memorial day then here" She says respectful, then glances, "is that why ...is the holiday why you seem so tense?" Mostly looking at her mother

Frank takes a swallow of coffee, makes eye contact with Brekke.

She exchanges that glance with Frank, then looks back to Siv. "No." A sigh. "Sit for a moment, please, Siv."

Siv sits brows knitting in a way that each parent would probably attribute to the other

Frank nods, sips.

A pause, and then the question, "Is all going well with your time up at the Farmhold?"

"Well, yeah, actually better than I thought I would. I still would like to go to public schooling, but at least there are more kith and kinian me own age"

"Yes...you are...making friends?" An attempt at a grin.

"A few. " She says, "I'm older than Kelby and some of Sylvi's o ther friends so I'm makking a few of my own. I do have to question the DeBuke naming process I mean, some of the poor lads. Buck? Caulfield? Fielding? Reinhold? won't even go into the girls"

(Scene paused)

"Hmm...yes, 'Siv' and 'Brekke' are far more acceptable names." An eyebrow.

"Exactly" She says , "Good nordic...' A pause, "Mom, did you just make a funny?"

Frank puts a small smile in his mug.

She blinks, expression still neutral. "It has been known to happen."

"Are ye feeling well, should we check your temperature?" Unlike her mother, she can't hold the straight face as well

"I am not sure a medical intervention is necessary. However...while we are on the topic..." She grows serious and glances at Frank.

Frank nods.

"oookaay?" Curious

A pause before she begins. "Siv, we need to schedule a mortal doctor's appointment for you. One that is customary for girls to have around your age."

"Could combine it with a regular check up and school physical."

"Pardon?" She says
