A glance at Dagmar, but she keeps talking to Siv. "And Jaymes is okay, right? What was he like on the ship? I mean, from what you remember."

"Solid, stoic. Like mom, doesn't talk much."

"And he's a good fighter."

"Strong. Saw'm toss that caber."

"Right. I mean, you were no slouch at that either, Dag."

"I did okay, I guess. Didn't make a fool of myself."

"A foo-- You nearly put that thing in orbit!"

"No kidding, it was splendid"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." Sylvi nods seriously.

"With practice on the hows to angle, you're going to be even better and you were already the best of we younger wilders"

"Nah, Colton was pretty much just as far...."

"You still were ahead of him but both of you were good yes"

Sylvi grins and nibbles on popcorn.

"Jaymes and Tove goofy for each other? Mm she's younger than him by a handful or so , maybe she likes older men" Thoughtful "Though lately he seems like..he's holding his breath"

A little smile grows at the praise.

And falters. "Yeah..."

A look at Dagmar, but she doesn't say anything.

"Not sure what it's about though" A shrug, then ..noticies their reactions "Am I the only one who doesnt'?"

Quietly, "Tell her, Dagmar."

Dagmar starts picking up dropped popcorn.

Siv helps pick up

Sylvi helps, too.

"She don't have to, but I would like to know if she would"

"Nothing to tell. Nothing happening."

A little shrug. "'Kay." But she frowns a bit

"Well, I guess I will learn to live with curiosity. Good thing I'm not a cat"

So why does she look like she's going to cry? She puts more focus on the popcorn.

"Dagmar?" that sad look she can't ignore, "You... sure you don't want to talk about something?"

"Dag...it's okay."

"NO." She snaps, and stalks off to find the garbage can.

A blink.

A frown, then a look to Sylvi, then watches the girl head to the corner with the small garbage can.

Sylvi tries not to sigh too loudly.

She lingers, back turned to the girls as she tries to collect herself. Her broad shoulders heave as she takes a deep breath.

Awkward silence lengthens. Then.... "You staying for dinner?"

...and she instantly regrets the question as soon as it's out of her mouth. Meant to be inviting, but this is Dagmar, so.... she waits.

"I dunno. No." She turns back.

"Okay. I..." a pause and she does sigh now. "I have to work on a paper for English."

"well, how about we try to find a DVD copy of Jaws and next week do this again?"

Sylvi grins. "Sure. Later, Siv. See you, Dagmar." She slips out of the room and heads down the hall.

"...sure."

She watches Sylvi go, then looks at Dagmar, then when she says sure, smiles "that'll be gran then. I bet the Hearth does have it. I will ask."

"Sure."

"And, you know, Dagmar, if you change your mind and want to talk, I'm here. And if you don't change your mind, and want to just hang, I'm here. "

"No. It's fine. It was just... stupid stuff."

"Sometimes stupid stuff gets to us" She shrugs

"Yeah, exactly. But then you remember you gotta be smart."

"Sometimes the smart thing is to share the stupid stuff with folks you trust. Helps you move on, well, helped me move on."

She deflates and shakes her head.
