"What?"

He deflates. "I... Oh, man, I'm in so much trouble...."

"Why are you in trouble?"

"Sparrow, I was accepted to -seminary.- I was going to be a priest. I don't know... I don't know how to do this."

"You said you were maybe taking a year?"

"I am."

"So you have time. Time to get to know her, for one. See if she's what you want and need."

"Or see if your vocation outweighs that."

"Sparrow, I don't know -how.-" He has started to sweat slightly. "I've never dated. Anyone."

"Not even that sluagh girl?"

"What? Zara? She's a friend."

She raises an eyebrow. "Okay. So. Dating - I can give you some tried and true Fiona advice. And the first is to never show fear."

He listens, intently.

"You married her once, right? So if you think you're unworthy, if you can't commit to the pursuit... you'll lose her for sure."

"Commit. Right." Even as he says it, he looks slightly sick.

"...Are you sure you want to?"

"No." Miserably.

"Or do you feel like you should, because of what was, in the time before?"

"Yes. And no. She's...." His eyes slide back to the rath.

OOC Need to pause! Movie time.

"She's beautiful. Is that enough?"

"It's not just her face. It's everything. And... what I can remember. What I feel echos of." He stops, then manages to look away from the rath, to Sparrow. He pauses with a frown. "This is kind of weird to talk about with you."

"Why... why don't you just think of me as Sparrow? Your house-sister."

"And someone who cares about you, as a friend."

"I can try. But it's... like there's a .... film, a layer, over it. I can see both. I guess like seeing a mortal and fae mien."

"And I fear that film might blind you."

"It's the same for all of you. I can see you, but I have what little I remember, and what I feel echos of. I can try to think past it. I should probably do that."

"Get to know us, yes. As we are."

His eyes slide back to the rath. "Yes."

"You are not the Margrave, not exactly, not anymore. Even without a human soul, we change."

He takes a half step towards the trod, and stops. "Yes. I've talked with my mentor about that. He's been helpful."

"I guess I should get going. My summer... got busier. Need a job and... other stuff."

A hesitation, but she nods. "Sure. Catch you around, August."

"Are you ok, Sparrow?" With real, and kind, concern. "Thank you for setting this up. No matter what happens."

"I'm okay, sure. Are you going to be okay?"

A long pause. "I have faith."

"Good. You're a good person, August. I'm saying that based on you - and you deserve happiness. "

He offers a faint and troubled smile. "Ok. Listen, can I call you later?" Much less of the stuttering, shy, choked boy who stood there looking at Coradel.

"Sure. I work this afternoon, but will be free tonight."

"Right." He pauses. "When... ah... when is too soon to see her again? Or too late?"

"Give her the day, call her tomorrow?"

He grins, an involuntary sunbeam. He would probably be embarrassed at the naked emotion displayed in it. "Right. Ok. Tomorrow? I don't have her number, though, I'll have to go there. Ok. Thanks, Sparrow."

He turns to go.

"Take care, August."

He pauses and looks around. It shows; he'd like to go to her and offer affection, but he restrains himself. "It's good to see you, Sparrow. Thanks again. I'll call." And he goes.

"Sure..." She watches him go, expression conflicted.
