I have made a LOT of them. Usually scrap linen. The current project pile is from fat quarters of quilting cotton.

Cut two squares. You can either machine them together & turn, which leaves a small hole to close, or fold the raw ends in & do a stitch around the edge. This looks really nice with a perl cotton or a linen embroidery thread.
