Another Bit character I adored in STNG was K'Ehleyr, still my favorite of Worf's romantic partners

TNG does terribly wrt Crusher and Troi, at that. When Troi gets to have a brain, she's fantastic.

But most of the time it is Feels and Sexy Lamp and Wimmen-Love-Chocolate-Amirite?

I actually liked K'Ehleyr partly because she bounced well off Troi. "You're upset." "Did your finally tuned Betazoid senses tell you that?" "That and the table" A glance to the broken table 😉

If she'd lived I could see them being great friends

And yeah, I liked Wesley Crusher better when they stopped doing the 'he's a genius' and just let him screw up and been a teenager // And Troi was a victim of bad writing, but I did like when she found herself playing the part of a Romulan going "WTF" and her command test

I am a sucker for body swaps/transformations - Kira as a cardassian, that ep where 7 & the Doctor switch. It's fun to see a character you know grappling with something radically different.

That explains why you were so tolerant of the Coradel/Zara Body swap 😄

But yes, Troi taken out of her element and mostly on her own got to flesh her out. It wasn't a role of 'advise the captain on how someone is feeling' it's 'holy shit how do I survive this?'

Post-Jellico Troi is very solid

Jellico WAS a jackass, though I know he has his fans, but the uniform change was one good thing he pulled off

I confess, I actually was amused by Troi's love of chocolate.... we all have our comfort foods or addictions. Janeway had her coffee. Picard had his Tea, Earl Grey, hot. And Worf had... prune juice

Really unhealthy one was that damn Kayaking program that kept taking out O'Brien's shoulder. Every Damned Time. Stop it Miles. Go back to the Alamo, you're safer there!
