The five alumni, and the current-student ringleaders, were also all pets of fired prof. Ex-Prof is very active on social media and very chummy with students. I prefer a further remove.

So, he has obviously been briefed. I doubt he knows all the details.

The students certainly don't.

But he sure seems to be willing to fan flames and condemn.

I dislike him getting involved, with the chip on his shoulder/grudge against the institution

And I am pissed, because I have been his friend, have go-funded him, have written letters, have tried very hard to be helpful in getting him to land.

I'm a worry wart by nature

I believe that the girl was abused. I am glad she is getting therapy. I believe that it is possible outsiders did not understand how abusive her apparently consensual relationship was.

I also think it is unfair to start a whisper of "concern" over their "safety" around someone who, at worst, failed to report.

They're acting like HE is the one who was being sketch, as opposed to working at the same place as sketch guy.

I mean, you're not sure whether you believe the prof did or did not neglect professional obligation.

Actor is NOT a prof.

He's a local professional, not a mandated reporter, and totally lacking training.

Not helpful, no. But not complicit. Which is why I am upset about this campaign - poor guy has been unemployed for five months because all of live entertainment has been shuttered.

He's getting one paycheck to sing one song, which is recorded by his damn self in an off-campus studio and being put in the film. But they feel "unsafe"

... because, as I understand it, this middle aged man didn't post a protest about what happened on social media, when he promised the person it happened to, not to say anything.

That said campaign has several bad-faith actors in the mix also makes me question motives. The leader of the pack is one who was PROTECTED by Title IX after he was accused of sexual misconduct.

Well, our chair has gone to the dean, the playhouse board of directors, the title IX officer, the legal counsel, the local sexual abuse awareness community action group...

The Dean found the "concerned letter" to be threatening - frankly, so did I.
