It's a hot mess. I honestly don't care who my actors are, if the decision was made to cut him - but my heart would ache for him, because it feels like misplaced zeal. Like, is there something else going on I don't know about?

I'm not saying jump. I'm saying shop. One thing about a profession being shuttered is that nobody new is going into it. That means that when things get unshuttered again, there will be openings.

Stay where you're at...but shop your resume around.

it was so hard to find a job, even a shitty job, because of my resume. nobody wants to hire someone with a masters to do a survival job. It was a remarkably traumatic experience.

I'm just saying, working on an alternative before you need it will be less traumatic than needing one later and not having it.

But if your department seems like it'll weather the storm, then it's not a problem.

I have found it to be a stress release. At least it's forward, positive action. I can apply; they might not call, but I can take that action when I feel helpless. I can look for gig work or apply through business networks and I can reach out to others at my Company in the line of business I want to be in to check in. I -can- take action.

I don't want to go. I want to buy a house and get a dog.

Totally understand that.

And it feels like I can't ever be safe or get ahead.
