I slept early last night; long week. Then was up in the middle of the night, then slept late. Still, feel RESTED and that's the point.

Jewel came in a bit rambunctious, looking for the Things (who just left for school) so I invited her to play and then interrupted the play with Sit, Settle. She responded PERFECTLY.

More play, then Sit Wait, Settle, Stay. I walked away. PERFECT response. Then more play, and then All Done. She's calmly lying in the bay window seat next to me.

Dog was dumb last night and I am filled with sleepygrumps

She is supposed to SLEEP at night. Not lay on the bed until she hears the cat doing whatever it is cats do, then go flying off the bed with a MIGHTY THUMP and a CLATTER-CLATTER-CLATTER down the hallway.... 5-6 times over the night

and we can't close the door because the catbox is in the master bathroom

Jewel lays on her bed in my bedroom until DH comes to bed. He takes her outside for a good 30 minutes while he reads and then she goes to her kennel, which is a freaking PALACE till someone gets up.

She has a mattress and blankets in there and all.

Hubs likes her in the bedroom

it is becoming a trial though as she does this at night

Then Hubs can go settle her down. *dry*

If by 'sleepily mutters' ....stop that..., then yes he handles it 😕

I tried to settle her last night by giving her a Favorite Treat which is a beef marrow bone. It worked until she decided to start picking it up and dropping it on the hardwood repeatedly

also - those are the BEST TREAT EVER. Practically free at the butcher, and she loves them

I realized yesterday that my house is practically in the running for elephant graveyard with how many bones there are around

we really need to be more proactive about throwing out the 'spent' ones, but she still likes them. Spoiled dog.

Shades that IS a very nice kennel. I am tempted... but the place it would fit there is currently an end table that has a cat bed on top. That would add insult to injury! 😆
