Hey! *hug* I feel better. I think I'll still get to sleep at a reasonable hour, but not drooling at the moment.

I -did- have a busy day; even walked to the end of the street to pick up Thing2 from the bus stop 'cause it was raining pretty hard, although it let up before I got there. And DH & Thing1 picked us up on the walk back.

It was still a walk.

Yup. B wanted to go Wal mart. Feeling cooped up (Nevermind that B spent a lot of time in her old home just sitting around etc) and her daughter agreed.

Well, that was around 5:20. They only got hom 5 minutes ago

So we're talking 3 to 4 hours at a Walmart

I mean, all that means is they got to see groceries and maybe a tire center and/or optometrist in addition to, you know, Walmart.

Honestly, I didn't look into the new Roseanne, but I'm baffled....wasn't Dan dead at the end of the original?

Oh I never watched Roseanne . tried one or two of the origianal series, found her obnoxious.

Back then, she was actually funny, in an Archie Bunker kind of way. But she was absolutely about raising what we now call "free range" kids, rather than over-protected little whiny brats. I admired that.

In the season's final episode, Roseanne reveals the entire series itself is actually a story written by Roseanne Conner about her life. To cope, Roseanne twisted major elements of her life for the story, which the audience does not discover until the final moments of the season. In reality, Dan's heart attack near the end of Season 8 was fatal and the Conner family did not win the lottery. A story arc running through the final season, that Dan betrayed Roseanne by having an affair, is revealed to be false. We learn that Dan's betrayal wasn't having an affair, but dying. - Wikipedia

Right, so Dan was dead...except apparently he was in the new series.

The premiere begins 20 years after the previous episode, with Season 9 and the final episode being almost completely retconned out of existence as both a dream of and a story by Roseanne; namely Dan's death, when he is actually alive.

Now, that said, Sara Gilbert did a lot of the work to get the reboot up and running.

I would support a revival even in spite of, and let's say BECAUSE OF the current kerfuffle, IF we can take it in a direction that might turn some people around.

LET the Conners support the President.

LET them work through ugly-family moments.

LET the challenges last longer than a 30 min ep.
