I am starting to wonder how much of the It's Complicated Earl picks up.

Zara is very reticent about public things.

I think if Earl probably wishes he was a bogan some days.

But his 7 dice of Per plus empathy ain't bad

That's what I mean, that's pretty good. It means anything he should pick up at diff 7 or below, he can autosuccess.

Minimal successes, but still. He doesn't even need to roll.

I think he senses that ICE would do almost anything to protect Z, and he thinks that means ICE is, somewhere deep, a good person

i also admit Z is a bit public because a: people shouldn't hear her whispers and b: would rather let others "see" to enjoy/add to the mutual story

If he knew Zara and ICE had been 'together' it might sting, hard, and he'd be very confused because ICE seems to have tried to help him in the past, and then other times been no help at all... but he also realizes he has no claims. It might be HIS turn to read gothic romance

I think Ice is very grey-area. He will cut throats without a second thought if he thinks he has to, no qualms. But if he likes you, yeah, you're on the good list. SO is that a good person?

OUCH, well....she is, but not really, I suspect? If Zara-p is okay with my telling? L She and Ice talked about Earl...

Because she asked Ice why HE hasn't made a move on her. Not in so many words. And the answer was basically -- and this would give Caesar fits -- basically that they are headed different directions, and she wants the flowers, the romance, the lilac clouds, and he just isn't that guy. Earl IS.

That he is, ultimately, bad for her.

So there was the ambivalence Earl sensed.

Makes sense.

Ice has made a couple of moves, then backed off when he realized he shouldn't, or hell, got a little shy. But he's backing off to give Earl a chance. Even if he thinks Earl and she won't last.

Because Zara is a prickly little creature
