Not in the three blades best for Range, but another row of sword, probably meant for up close and in your face stuff, there is another blade almost out of the way. It is plain for the most part, almost looks in need of a polish. The glamour on it is different though.

(Obviously with a full blade on it)

"Worthy or not, take which of the three you like most, though yes, they are fine blades all" He says with a smile.

August lets his gaze linger in the corner as he considers what is on offer.

"mm?" A look from the Duke "Oh, that old thing. We didn't make that and the dream stuff of it feels odd to some. I am not sure of it's name, but someone said it was used to kill a Childe of Lilth once. "

August knows what is 'odd' about the glamour. This object is radiating true faith.

"In truth, whatever magic it has, is a mystery to us and I cannot vouch for its worth" The duke sounds apologetic.

"Would you allow me to examine it?"

"Feel free" he says "It is not, as far as I know, ranged but by all means. I have oft times considered selling it to someone to make room for more fanciful blades"

OOC What does 'ranged' mean in this context? That is, in the armory here; I have the feeling I'm not familiar with how it's being used.

OOC: Well, Tango will fight at range... on it's own. Zephyr will send a blast of wind at range. Blink IS the odd man out, as it is defensive magiced making your harder to hit but he offered it anyway. This last blade, far as you know, will have to stab and slash up close and has nothing like a flame thrower or a lightning hurler in it

Tziporah looks at it and kens it "Feels odd all right..not nearly as fancy as the others"

As August touches it, all doubts are lost. This is not a 'weak item' it's just tied to a form of magic that many don't understand. There's a holiness to this , good men have wielded this for higher causes and the belief in a greater power. A benevolent one. It is very likely this was wielded by a Liam brother in the past, or perhaps a Beaumayn.

"If Your Grace is willing, I would be privileged to carry this weapon."

He looks stunned, but nods "Of course, Baron. If you wish I could even sell it or trade it at a bargain, but either way it is in your keeping atl east until we return your regular blade. Why that one?"

Tziporah looks curious as well, her question is different "Your grace, did that blade have a name?"

August politely waits for the Duke to answer Tziporah.

"I should check my records" He reaches for a journal and looks it over finding the page "Ah, well, we never found out the original name as it was seen as a minor item. BUT... " Flip "Yes, someone called it Lilith's Nettle, perhaps a reference to the vampire it said to have killed. Another name used was Beatus Socius? I believe that means Blessed Ally? And, another listed it as 'A Dangerous Mercy'"

"Ooo I like that last one," Tziporah says "it's evocative"

August thinks that House Liam might have resources to learn more if he wishes to research it

August had, indeed, thought that. He reaches out and gently lays his hand on the hilt; not to pick it up, but to make contact.

It feels like an ally. There's a sense of humility about it. It has been through a lot. How he knows this just by kenning is hard to say. It's hardly an exact science.

"Call it what you will, Baron" The Duke says "I hope it pleases you but feel I have done you less service than I should have. Do not forget what I said about your Bannerhouse being welcome though."

Clearly the Duke DOES feel indebted.

"I suppose... to answer your question, Your Grace... it calls to me? It serves, without seeking fame."

"Like calls to like" The Duke nods, "Yes, I can grasp that. "

Tziporah blushes. She's been enjoying Tziporah 'The Humble' but that's partly for irony sake. August is, she realizes, the real deal.

"And you, Miss Tzipoorah?" The Duke asks, "Have you found one you like as a gift?"

The selection of old Levant or Middle Eastern style weapons was slimmer, but Tziporah seems to enjoy a theme and was looking there. "I'm not sure." She admits "August, may I get your opinion?"

"For what it is worth." he says, and joins her there.

"Okay," She says intrigued "I admit it, I like shiny things as much as the next girl. but I also want to keep it semi regional? So I've narrowed it down a bit... there's this" She pulls out a Khopesh blade and shows him

"Which apparently has the power to cut ghosts, fog, mist, and other things that it shouldn't be able to"

"And then there's this scimitar, and it's not subtle" She shows the other and lights it up

She snuffs it "Course if I start a chimerical wildfire that's on me"

She puts it away carefully "My last pick is small, a curved dagger."

"Odd shape otherwise not too fancy, but it is called 'taster' and .. . if you stab someone and get even a slight wound on them, you can follow that person and find them. It will lead you to them."

She looks at him to see what he thinks

August takes a long moment, thinking.

"The fire-blade seems... well, it is remarkable and would draw attention, perhaps something you might wish to avoid in your usual course. And your Kith's boon will lead you to whomever and whatever you are meant to be with, yes? A blade that can cut things it shouldn't be able to... that seems most apt." he is still holding his loaner blade.

She nods, and takes the Khopesh "I think you're right. " She looks to the Duke "Are you sure, your grace?"
