A mighty pine takes the shot for her! Perhaps she knows one of it's cousins in Jersey

And she's closing. She can see that to her fae eyes it looks like a viking village... the Lighthouse isn't 'on' by mortal standards, but the balefire burns bright casting a seeking gaze upon the waters

You know, Siv might like this place.. she's really into... BANG Oh screw Siv, she can get her own travel agent. Right now, survival!

Symon focuses on not wincing or blacking out at the ear-shattering noises... I should really learn Oakenshield, I know Primal... he curses to himself.

And Dagmar closes yet further, surely someone at the hold will see or hear this?

Another shot, another miss! While Dagmar is brave enough to take the hit, she should be glad she doesn't have to

"HAVEN! ARE YOU DEAF!?"

And then... the hold they're running to just... vanishes... it.. doesn't exist. Possibly never did.

"Well, fuck." Symon hisses.

Dagmar growls, and keeps going in that direction.

Then... his eyes narrow. Dagmar can't see this, but she does feel his hands tightening onto one brawny arm. He throws out an arm of his own, pointing in a slightly different direction. "That way!" Perhaps heard or perhaps not in the fray, but he points!

She trusts Symon, and turns.

Slaugh senses pierce the chicanery. Good thing, this hill means going 'straight on' might still miss it

"50 paces, then swing to your left a bit..." Watching for any doorways or such that might brain a tall troll.

The gunman doesn't shoot anymore... doesn't dare! They are far too close to risk capture in

She has to slow a bit, so that's a mercy.

And Symon sees not just the entry path, but a confused thane seeing someone charging the hold! He doesn't exactly lower his spear, but he prepares for it

"Stop!" He whispers, and as soon as she does, he shimmies out of her arms and holds up his hands, empty, knowing that they cannot hear him from there. "Now, ask for Haven!"

Dagmar stops, breathing heavily.

The thane blinks as Dagmar stops, and Dagmar hears a voice "your intentions?"

As the illusion breaks... she sees a troll in Aesin colors with a spear half ready, shield out.. in case this was an attack

Symon is clearly looking straight at him, not fooled by the illusion... and ah, there it is, almost skewered. But almost dead... is still slightly alive!

"I seek Countess Edrit. I am Dame Dagmar Hammerstrike ap Gwydion, Knight of Rivervale Barony in Apples."

"Scruff wuff!" Bilbo adds

"...We found her dog."

The troll nearly drops his spear as he gazes at the chimera "Enter, enter and be welcome." He says and in troll body language he's almost jumping for joy, "We have been seeking Bilbo for soemtime. Please...come in"

Then he turns and blows a curled horn as if to announce them.

She checks to be sure Symon's uninjured.

Geezus H.... between sunshine and all the noise Symon may wonder if this place hates sluagh

He shakes his (ringing) head slowly. "Am fine." he mutters to Dagmar. "Thanks to your quick thinking."

He starts to move forward, then stops. "Can we have your name, Thane?" He whispers, before stepping into the hold grounds proper.

Oh, clever Symon.

"Thane Ford, like the water crossing, not the car company. Are you hurt?"

True by the way

Others are coming out, including a sluagh who despite the freshwater so close to her, looks as if she hasn't touched a liquid in a week, dry, sunken and shriveled.

He knows he is being rude, but that's the bright side of not being a knight, you aren't held to higher standards. "Can we trust that you offer haven on behalf of Countess Edrit, and serve her truthfully?"

The Thane stiffens ("Who the hell does this punk think he is?") but what he says in NON troll is stiffer jaw then "Yes."

"The bullets missed. But they were real bullets." She cricks her shoulders. ("He's a friend and worried.")

A glance to Dagmar, brow raised slightly. ("Thane man speak goodness yes?")

Two knights come out as well. One a sidhe, of House Aesin, disapproval on her face. The other? a Pooka, a reptilian fellow who ... is his Shield his Turtle shell? Yup. A western Painted turtle. Lovely red designs

Symon straightens up a bit respectfully - not in response to the Sidhe, no, but to the desiccated sluagh.

A nod to reassure Symon.

He steps closer to where the thane - and the others, alas, can hear him. "We were attacked within Countess Edrit's Duchy by one who wielded Cold Iron. I would not bring this into your hold. Understand that I must know the true intent of one I would hand it over to."

Not exactly apologetic, but explanatory at least.

"Mmm" a nod ("Ah. I see")

"Cold iron? What's this..." The Aesin woman says

"If only we had orders to bring Bilbo to the Countess some time or another..." The turtle pooka says to his peer

A cold sensation emanates from a rather unpleasant bundle of dark, dank sluagh sock.

Dagmar holds the chimera - it would be a task to take him by force.
