He can't help but snicker. “Does knighthood include cleaning up the carpet later?”

"Nah. I care about our people. Bet this filled Zane up good though."

A nod. And he looks down at the spider hiding. “Remember that I rescued you. And if you can possibly swing it, make sure that no one else does?” A thin smile. “I want to keep my asshole rep if I can.”

He nods to Dagmar. “I’ve been studying it. Got extra credit in history class for it, too.”

"Nice. Do all spiders speak in code?"

He gives a mysterious wiggle of eyebrows. “No one knows.”
