Symon checks his phone to see what message the Chieftain had sent.

The text reads: Trouble.  I am out.  Moving the Jeep to small park we passed a block away.  Meet me there when you can.  I will wait.

He nods to Zane and points that direction.

And they head over to rejoin Brekke?

She sees them approach and nods. She looks rather grim.

Symon also has a frown. He nods to the Chieftain. "Made contact with someone inside. I knew that song was too blatant... it was a call for help." He whispers, once close enough.

Zane nods "Yeah, some of the locals are not happy with the changes either"

"What was the trouble you found?" He asks the Chief.

She takes a deep breath, hearing their news, and nods. "It is not good. The Baron is 'not available' and has not been so since November 13th. That is the word of the chancellor. An Eiluned, so I cannot tell if she lies, but...she gave clues."

"I spoke to a spider. She spoke in riddles and song titles, but basically said that the song about you was a prompt to dig at you and get you over here. Her mistress... or master... is a prisoner."

"Does the name Arsenic mean anything to you? I wasn't sure if that was a code as well."

A frown. "Poison, only," she says, shaking her head. "Here," she offers them the note to read. The chancellor, Dame Ynisa, gave me this. At first I thought she was merely being rude when she asked if I needed her to write down what she was saying, but then I thought she is trying to say something else."

"there's an address on it"

The note reads in blocky print: ... I'm afraid you have hit a wall, Chieftain. Baron Angus is not available nor is likely to be open for meeting soon. The paper it was put on has a home address in Hackensack..but that was pretyped.

"I have an in to spy on them, I think...."

Brekke nods. "Yes. She also said..." a pause as she recalls the precise words "...that she did not have time for me, for she wished to watch a movie with her son, if she could get the machine to work, and she wanted to have enough energy to do that."

"Much to be seen there -- her son is present. She mentioned him again, or rather her family, as I was leaving. And why would a machine not work in a Dougal hold?"

"She was the only fae I saw. The rest were golems and servitor machines."

He listens quietly.

"She's a hostage too.. no, a puppet" Zanne says "And her son is the hosage and.. ohh wow"

"The wall...there is a new wall there from the last time I was here. I should have read this note before I walked out. Now I need to get back in to break it down."

He exhales, a puff of frustration.

A nod to Zane. "Find out who lives at that address."

Both of the wilders likely know that texting is about the height of the Chieftain's cellphone skills.

"Let's see" he types away

She seems only now to register what Symon said. "A spider that spoke only in riddles? Could it have been a pooka?"

"Holy crap"

"No, chimerical. But I have a piece of it's webbing... which is of it's self. So if someone can tattletale.. they can spy through her."

Zane blinks at his phone

"What is it?" she asks Zane.

"It's my dad's former student"

"I mean ShE is a former student of my dad"

"The one you mentioned before? Now a sidhe?"

"YUP. What are the.. wow. Da'an at work here"

"So it seems. Let us go there." She starts the Jeep, and off they go.

"Hold up.." Zane says "We can spy through the spider's web?"

She stops before they really get rolling. "I do not know the art. Do you?"

Zane blushes "I do. You, Symon?"

He shakes his head.

"But my understanding was that a part of the thing would be sufficient to spy through..."

"Yeah. I can work that too" Zane says and, he smiles, not arrogantly, but with a growing confidence

"She may have been a pooka, now that I think back." He considers.

"The turn of phrase was odd at best."

Brekke nods to both. "Do it then," she indicates the spider's web. "Use only a portion. We may need to do this more than once."

"If she's a pooka then this might be easier.. heh.. I'm seeing through spider eyes... the sluagh union will protest" The satyr grins

then he looks over at Symon "They wonn't REALLY right?"

"They may complain to me. What do you see?"

Symon shrugs and hands over a bit of the webbing.

"Ick" He takes it anyway and starts to sing softly "Hope, dangles from a string..."

Symon looks a bit offended at the 'ick'. "Next time I'll bring ichor or venom."
