“What’s on the letter, Vali?” He wonders if he could pick the trolls pocket. He wonders if it’s worth risking his hands bones to try. He likes those bones intact. They’re useful for stealing stuff.

"French" he answers

A smirk. “ fair enough.”

"Santa speaks all langauges" He rises "Now, forgive me. I have to get back to my bride to be"

He smiles "Night you two, good work"

And out he goes.

Once he's gone, Gerd says "She keeps putting the wedding date off. I think she's gotten cold paws"

"Well, that's not good."

"Maybe she should talk to Tove."

"Maybe. " She ponders 'Your mom IS pretty amazing. I mean, no one has it all, not at the same time , but she's close right? Found love. Had kids..two of them. " A wink "Yet still does work she loves"

"Yup. And, well - married a troll."

"Like... yeah, she's a troll too, but she and Dad are on far ends of trollishness?"

"And since Vali is kind of on the Siv end... like, Vali to Tiff might be Jaymes to Tove? Ish?"

"True. She's a lot more... I don't know if relaxed is the right word? "

"Yeah, she's a talker."

"easy going and social maybe" A pausse "But Tiff and Vali are both jokers and talkers.. you think they're too much alike?"

"No, I mean - Vali's still a troll."

"So maybe some of Tiff's worries are about that?"

"Maybe... " A frown "Yeah, we should see if your mom can talk to her. And if that doesn't work.." She eyes the kitchen door "We may have to break out the BIG guns"

But he’s at least 70% asleep.

"Something like that. " Gerd says softly amused "But later for that.. go eat the cookies in dreamland. They can be as big as a house you know?"

He drops off. Now there’s just one snoopy listener in the room.

Dag pets Connor's hair and smiles.

Gerd seems happy to be the other lap he's using, then looks amused for a different reason "This is our life now."

"Oh, yeah. If you thought you were going somewhere, you're sorely mistaken."

“He can’t weigh more than I do. He’s shorter than me. A bit pudge, maybe:. You could roll him onto the floor if he ate too many donuts.” Symon observes.

"We really couldn't" Gerd smiles

Somehow, a cat has found his lap.

Dag doesn't comment, but she DOES grin.

“I bet if we said That Word it would wake ‘em both up. C...h...” He stops. A faint smile, fingers buried in Lovecraft scruff.

"Shhh" Gerd says needlessly
