Once they are out of earshot, he exhales in a wheeze. “Holy fuck. Do you believe that actually worked?”

"Right? Keep sharp, though."

He tries to flip the knife closed one handed in a cool move again, but there’s a bit of a tremble - he closes it with the other hand and slides back into his pocket. Keeping it in hand though. “Yeah, sharp.”

"I got your back, though. Hey, you got the eyes - you see it?" Looking for the trod.

And there it is.. the trod they were told of. A ...sewer grate now flickering with Silver. Thankfully a large one

He kneels and peers down within, seeing in the dark easily, checking what may be trying to lurk unseen.

She uses the steel to lever up the grate.

He doesn't see any unwhole some faces ..save his.. in the water below the silver. Fortunately with the trod up they shouldn't get their feet wet

He can easily cling to the ceiling and muck- is there a ladder? Or how far down is the water/tunnel bottom?

Or trod in this case.

"This is kind of gross. I wonder where those trees went."

And the grate is lifted. One ..drops down onto the trod it seems

“This way is the quiet way. Reminds me kinda of that scene in the dead-marshes, when Frodo saw the faces in the water of the dead warriors?” Symon lets himself dangle from fingertips, then lightly drops and moves to make room.

"Ohhh, yeah. That part was creepy. Okay, guess we go." And she drops down.

As symon drops.. he vanishes, no longer in this world but on the trod.

And Dagmar soon joins him.

He reaches out for her, but retracts his hand as soon as her solid form is visible, just brushing.

Reassurance, she’s there. Good.

the dreaming nomally creates grand vistas, be it mountains that tower, surreal moonlit grassy fields, forests of strange sounds...

this.. this is a tunnel... like moving through catacombs!

Dagmar fits... though not by much

A grunt. Unhappy about this cramped situation.

He notices, and takes point, creepy along to guide the way.

"Thanks. Dark."

He takes out his phone - no signal presumably, but does the flashlight work?

It does..creating a torch like effect

He offers it back to Dagmar. “Shine it up above my head?” He whispers. “THen you won’t drown out my sight.”

"Cool."

And they move down the SECRET Tunnel

...through the sewer! Through the dreaming!

there are forks and side passages the do not have the silver, so in away, this is an easy path to follow.

Hard to keep track of time on trods, but she walks.

Symon slides through the shadows cast by the phone-torch, at ease.

From the side tunnels... they hear voices... thisis not uncommon, the dreaming is full of distractions meant to trick you off the trod, or atl east entertain you

"Reflex save..." A teenage voice says with odd authority "EVERYONE... "

"Everyone?" A bit of a whine protest

"You bunched up, what did you expect?"

"19... and that's before bonuses.. so the rogue feels no pain"

"Fucking rogues..."

"Hmph. Rogues are good to have."

"hahaha..." The rogue voice says smug

"Okay.. you dodge the fireball.. and no I have no idea how.. Fighter?"

“Watch out for friendly fire, unless it’s 5th ed, then you can occupy the same five-foot square.” He obligingly whispers back into the darkness.

"hey..." Avoice says "Isn't there a five foot square rule ..."

'Huh? Oh..' Shuffling

They.. they hear Symon! They don't really HEAR him knowingly, but somehow his whisper inspired

He snickers, nearly inaudible, as they continue on. Dagmar learned that one, when Symon had delighted in telling them about how yes, all three of the characters could be caught in the same gelatinous cube.... a monster created solely for the purpose of filling a grid-based dungeon pathway.

And Dagmar hears a voice "My Champion with the Barbarian archetype is all written up..." A girl's voice.
