"Close enough." he allows "You might let us do most of the talking. Have we told you how to Enchant a mortal?" he can ask directly, given the surroundings.

He starts to reply verbally, but instead just shakes his head

CC shakes her head too "Sorry. darling"

"Not at all, Dearest. It is not a bad conversation to have here, after all." He sits down and gestures for them to do the same if they are not already seated. He then explains Enchantment.

".... this is something you may need to grant to your mother on occasion."

"But what about the right of ignoramus?" He asks

CC smiles as the boy remembers "He's an intelligent lad, isn't he, dearest?"

"He certainly is."

"There are those who frown on such measures, true." he explains to Slyfoot "And then there are those of us who needs must live in the world."

Now Slyfoot looks INTERESTED. Learning a way to break a rule is always of interest to kids, and Emerson suspects the boy has an unseelie bent

A shrug; are the rules really important? "It -can- have a cumulative effect on mortals, mind you. Potentially."

"And there are somethings you have to be extra careful about telling them"

CC warns him "But yes, in moderation, it can be crucial. And costly in glamour. Now, normally you have to get them to accept a token, something you fill with glamour , and get them to take it"

"And where do you get Glamour from?" the boggan prompts; a quiz!!

"From Dreamers I found on yelp" THe boy says, "And from artistic stuff like making play dough that looks like hippos. And from the bonfire that lights up all the sky"

"Yes." he confirms, pleased "And when you pass that Glamour, in a small gift that is freely given and freely accepted, the mortal you Enchant will see you as you truely are, and the Dreaming around them in the same way."

"And" CC warns them, "The Dreaming will have more power over them. Just as they can share in the delights, they can also share in dangers"

The boy's jaw opens, and he nods, then gets a sly look, "What about if I ..enchanted say, a bully, let's say his name was , oh, I don't know.. .just to be random, Victor? If I enchanted him would Victor be in my power?"

"No."

"Victor would be in the power of the Dreaming."

"Oh.." the boy says not sure how he feels about that

"A clever boy like you knows how to deal with bullies. Never let them define the rules, play to your strengths, not theirs" CC tells him, "You're a pooka. Learn how to prank and be wise enough not to crow"

"I'm a crow not a rabbit" he says, but then nods "Okay. I don't want to lose mom to the Dreaming forever, only get her lost for a few minutes" Clearly Victor can just get lost

"Very like." he agrees "That said, her Enchantment will not lend her understanding of what is called your Kith's flaw; your challenges with straightforward speech."

His face falls "mom's gonna think I'm a criminal"

"Oh now, she may think you're dishonest, and that will hurt" CC assures Slyfoot, "But YOU know the truth, even if you can't say it. Also if you play it right, she'll instead chalking it up to you being imagantive or prone to mere exageration...which is true" A smile to comfort

The boy smiles at that

"Excellent advice." he commends.

"Well, as long as she loves me more than choclate. SHe REALLY loves chocolate. I get jealous" He says

At that poiint, a voice says "Dawson? Oh thank goodness" A woman's voice, she looks haggard. SHe may have been searching for her son for hours

OOC AH! Sorry, and thank you. Distracted by workthings.

"Hello." he steps forward smoothly and offers a hnad "Emerson Stodgepole. Young Master Dawson here stepped a bit off his beaten paths, but he's as right as rain."

BIC: She first looks over Dawson, hugging him, and then turns to access Emerson. Emerson IS smooth, and while she mgiht normally be alarmed by a strange man with her boy, the fact CC is with him adds to his 'harmless older fellow' routine. And the mother relaxes and takes the hand "Thank you, very much, Emerson. I'm Christina."

"Charmed." he smiles warmly "Allow me to introduce Miss CC." as he does.

"CC?" A stop "of CC's Emberclub?"

"Unrepentantly so" CC smiles

"I keep meaning to go," The woman says warmly "I hear the food is fantastic and the music is amazing. Thank you so much for putting up with Dawson, who scared me to death. I must look a fright"

"When my son got lost, I was no centerfold myself" CC assures with understanding

"You must come and be our guest soon." Emerson invites.

"Oh I'm sure it's worth every penny but..." She demures "Well, I need to watch the budget"

CC smiles "When Emerson says guest, he means we'll be happy to treat you. Emerson is, by the way, the genius behind that 'fantastic food'. He does some wonderful cooking himselfbut also personally hired the other staff"

"Mom, you should totally go, frankly, sometimes you cramp my style and I need a night to myself" Dawson assures

"YOu'll be lucky if I don't ground you for a year, Dawson" His mother says

THe boy looks sheepish

Christina ponders the offer "Thank you for the offer, I .. admit it's tempting. Not sure when I'll get the time"

"Miss CC knows some fine child care options....." he teases.

"I'm a grandmother, I go over every potential babysitter like the FBI"

"You're a grandmother?" She looks at CC surprised
