He smirks to himself. Instead he asks "How can you be destroyed?"

William nods to himself and as the cantrip runs out he gets a drink of water before returning to the jade statuette.

And a drink he has.

And he settles in to cast a final cantrip, this time on the snake statue.

And it comes alive as the cantrip is cast and rears up looking him the eyes. he feels his will being challenged, usurped!

He hears it whisper in his mind "Your possession of this item means Glorian Leech may have been captured or worse. You will aid his salvation with all your body, will, mind, and soul. Your every resource will be for his liberation and safety"
And for a moment, just a moment, he finds himself nodding. He'll help leech, why not? Save him! That would be his purpose in life.. .nothing else...
then his eyes break for just a moment to the picture of those boggans of yesteryear fighting the tyrants
and he finds the will to defy the attempt to brainwash him from the serpent

"What is a full listing of your powers?"

"What is a full listing of all you know about Glorian Leech?"

the serpent "So much, so very much... that I am not permitted to..." and cracks begin to form along the jade! It is breaking apart rather than reveal a secret

".... tell"

"How can I keep you whole?"

"_too late, but what is broken can be reb-" and it shatters

"DAMN!"

He goes on to curse for a bit and.... well, he must have picked up things from nockers.

Indeed! Leech clearly wove some failsafes into the magic. One snare a thief to his service, the other to keep it out of others hands

There might be a few more things broken......but eventually he stands, huffing.

He stomps over and pours a brown drink from the bar cart.

Looks strong. GOOD

He drinks, sipping, and glowering. Mostly at himself.

True, the mask, the ring, the painting.. all of power in their way

He sets down his glass and goes to shower, dress, and depart in search of the ingredients he needs for the right pig compound.

And off he goes. Pig poisoning. Something new every day
