"Mr. Brine, may I ask a random, personal question? You have every right to say no, or 'next time.' I will not be offended in the least; I know this is impertinent."

"oh?" he turns "By all means you may ask, Mr. Stodgepole"

"Was your mother, by chance, a soft spoken woman?"

"In point of fact ,yes, never raised her voice"

"Mind you, she could still be quite firm... in her way"

A curious look "how did you know?" He asks

"I'm an excellent reader of people, and you struck me as someone who had a parent who was soft in a quiet way, but not -soft-, if you take my meaning? You have excellent, if formal manners. It shows."

"She was at times a stickler. I find it has served me well, and you are correct"

"A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Brine. We will be in touch."

He inclines his head, "Your servant, Sir." And he heads out

"Perhaps, sir, perhaps....." He mutters as he wipes things down.

"Callidora? I think that was the last for tonight."

Callidora comes out "I am curious."

"He has the blood; Sluagh, if I had to put money on it but it would be only a small flutter." He yawns. "Pardon. It is an interesting idea but....."

"Does that over rule him you think?"

A sigh. "Too many unknowns. You and I live here, there will be dross and Glamour about, Caesar visits, the mothers know much about our Dreaming, and retain it, and the children..... SEVEN of them.... who knows?"

"Add to that the butler from the Addams family, who knows what could happen?"

"So you're saying we have to kill a few to thin out the herd ?"

Blink blink

He puffs with amusement and puts the tea things away, setting the house for bed.

"It might come to that, but I thought we'd finish the first round of interviews and then you decide who you'd like to meet."

"Fair. He seemed odd.. I think I liked monica better, but he's more qualified isnt' he?"

"Technically, yes. His education and experience are far stronger."

"Mm" She nods "We'll check out that one tomorrow, see how it goes"

"Yes." He smiles at her. "Come to bed?"

"oh my? A bed.. with a man? Oh no.. I.. well.. if you insist I might be..enticed" her eyes sparkle

He laughs softly and takes her hand to lead her upstairs.
