And out she goes

A moment later, CC peeks out "Well? What do you think of her?"

"Not the right educational background, spotty employment history..... sweet girl, but....."

"Mmm hard times," She'd been eavesdropping

"Oh, no doubt and no blame nor shame. However....."

"However we're not charity workers" She nods "I like her, but mmm well, if no one better comes up"

"I do hope for a few more interviews."

"Yes yes, and you have one soon."

"But you need to eat. Lunch?"

"Oh, that would be delightful, yes please."

She smiles "Good. I've got something cooking for you"

He chuckles at the phrasing and follows her to the kitchen.

Oh my, ribs, baked potatoes, and green beans

"Oh, Dearest.... what a wealth!"

"I may have over done it" Blushing

He takes her hand and kisses her. "I will do my best." He pledges.

"It can be left overs" she says

"If there is any left." With a twinkle.

A kiss on his cheek "Not a challenge, but enjoy"

"oh.. a drink...mm what goes with Ribs and Baked potato?"

"Oh, iced tea, lemonade cuts the fat nicely, a strong merlot... a crisp cold beer, for that matter."

"mmm oh let's bluecollar it" She gets him a nice cold beer

Of course, any beer he supplies to a home he uses is top-quality. "You'll eat with me?" a hopeful invitation.

"You couldn't keep me away" She says and surprises him by getting a beer herself

"How very declasse." He teases, and he gets her chair and serves her.

"I know" She fusses as she serves him "Now I was trying to treat you"

"Ah, I will sit quietly like a good boy." He promises.

And she does fuss over him

"Dearest, are simply pleasing yourself or is there something afoot?" With pleasant suspicion.

"No intrigue in motion this time, I've learned my lesson about that" A pause "Currently"

He gives her an eyebrow and clears his throat, but says nothing; he just tucks into the delicious ribs.

And she sits out and joins him.

and it is, of course, delicious.

Oh, he DOES love a good meal, her cooking and care, and of course, her. And he's a glutton for it.

She makes idle chatter, and encourages him to do the same.

Oh, a boggan can do that, although there is not much that happens to him that she does not already know.

True, but he enjoys it, and so does she. But boggans need gossip.

He -does- enjoy the chatter.

And then, as meal time ends, he gets a napkin "Next candidate will be here soon"

"Mmmm. That would be.....?" He glances over his notes.

"K.C. Brine" reads the next name

"Mmm." He nods, and pats his mouth with the napkin and reviews the resume in preparation. "If you like, I might have time to tidy up before this one arrives.....?"

She wipes rib sauce off him "Lil bit"

He smiles, with a twinkle.

"Let's go clean you off" She suggests

A chuckle. "I can hardly do the dishes from the bath, Dearest. Not to mention, it might be awkward when the doorbell rings?"

"Oh fine" A wink

"Now, you go along and leave me be. Shouldn't take long."

She does
