This hold is so small, but it has a tiny shiny Birb in the glass, and Amity might enjoy that part.

"Goldfinch apparently gives music lessons," Her father says, hand on her shoulder, "Not sure if you're interested in or not but I wanted to show you where the other hold was. Careful though, more sons of adam and daughters of eve here on the main floor so Right of ignorance and all that." He says this quietly, of course.

The little bird in the glass breaks loose as a chimera and trills a greeting to both!

A surprised trill back!

the goldfinch chimera's song grows excited and delighted, and is quite musical inviting her to sing along.

Karel mutters "I realy need to learn more languages" But he looks pleased as his daughter and the hold's chimerical name sake hit it off.

She whistles a little tune, a melody that sounds a lot like zip-a-dee-do-da.

the bird harmonizes back!

And there is the sound of hooves approaching.

A satyress grump, old but robust approaches, like the rocker she is. Etsie doesn't interrupt but leans against a wall and watches the duet go.

Amity laughs, delighted.

When the tune finishes, the satyress chuckles, "Well, that's one of the few times we've had our own Finch decide to do some teaching. Hey Kiddo, and I presume Kiddo's dad?" She looks at her Dad "Welcome to Goldfinch. I'm Etsie, an old rocker gal from way back."

"Karel Novak," Her dad shakes the satyress' hand and says "And that's my daughter, Calamity... I mean, Amity" He grins as daughter with playful assurance, then says to Etsie "We're new in the area. Trying to check out places for safe haven."

"You know, he could be an imposter...."

"Pleased to meetcha, I didn't know a website could be a person." She offers her hand to Etsie.

"Ah, that site," Etsie sighs "I had the name first," she shakes the hand "I'm younger than the Beatles but I'm older than the rolling stones" Her grip is friendly, warm "So, Amity, you clearly can carry a tune. If you want to get musical lessons we can hook you up."

She bites her lip and looks up at her dad.

Her dad says "If you like, we can make it work, honey. Lessons here are covered for kithain as a rule, or at least very cheap," He looks to Etsie "At least that's what I heard."

"Right you are," Etsie nods "It's all good. We got Linwood teaching Piano, I teach Guitar, Piper teaches singing... and there are other instruments," Etsie admits "Drums, Flute, and for some reason Accordian."

"Instruments are so cheap, too."

At that her dad looks sheepish, "Yes, that is true. And if I 'borrow' one folks get huffy."

Etsie chuckles "Take it easy, don't let the sounds of your own wheels drive you crazy. Like a high school program, we got spares you can use while at the hold, not always top quality but useful for learning."

"Gotcha..."

"you have a favorite musical genre? Hip Hop, Country, Rock and Roll?" The older satyress inquires "The last is my favorite, but each one has a lot of room. We got someone who loves Broadway musicals, Jazz, and of course Pop has its place."

As Etsy asks, from the back there are sounds of folks playing or practicing. Some are in recording booths that mute the sound a bit, others are more in class rooms. Careless Whisper is playing on a Sax somewhere.

The Finch settles on Amity's shoulder as if comfy as can be there. No scratching or clawing either.

"...Yes?"

Etsie chuckle "Guess we'll learn how it goes as we go. How about I show you and your dad around and show you both what we have. " She eyes the Finch on Amity's shoulder "Okay, she has really taken a shine to you."

"Well, I'm a purple finch, and everybody knows purple and gold are compliments."

She turns her head towards the bird. "You look lovely today, madame. Feathers buffed?"

The Chimera preens and tweets in the affirmative. Another tweet, this one praising Amity's own plumage!

Mostly in the form of song. You can't appreciate songs like 'I'm too sexy' or 'shake your tail feathers' until you've heard them in their original bird.

Amity giggles. "See?"

"Haven't seen goldy there hit it off since we had Mickey visit. He's a mockingbird pooka," Etsy says and shows them around. There's one room that has indeed serveral instruments to pick from. Many came damaged, banged up , or even broken, but heaherbalm can work on more than flesh, and so it is with these once 'useless' instruments now given a second life.

Amity isn't a piskie - but she does like "seeing" things with her hands, picking up the instruments to look at them.

Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombone... then Flute, Piccolo, basoon... also Guitar, Drums, keyboard... harmonica, Kazoo.

She grabs it up, oh it's a quality kazoo that buzz hums like nobody's business.

Etsie looks over at the father "That one is ... you know wqhat ,she can take it home if you sign for it."

The kazoo makes duck noises!

"Oh sure, my wife won't kill me, she needs me for odd jobs beneath her," Karel considers with a nod.

Etsie laughs "Hey, if it brings your kid joy, and helps her love of music, it's a win win. Alsso she's free to stay here to practice if you want her to , but I understand parents can be a bit worried..." but before she can continue...

Mr. Novak says "Oh sure, mind you, I think she might want to play on the top of the Empire State Building and see if she can get a King Kong Chimera to dance, or maybe pipe down some gospel kazoo down a church's belltower in Trenton... but it's great this place is available, thanks."

"Empire..." For a moment Etsy looks at him as if to make sure he isn't a pooka, but the man is a piskey and serious, "I take it you're not exactly helicopter parents, you and your wife?"

"Helicopters aren't good for birds," He assures "Or little girls learning to stretch their wings.. " He looks at his daughter, "Amity, you know the rules about moon rise or lights right?"

She responds with a very familiar sequence of notes.

"She gets it," Mr. Novak assures Etsy at that tune.
