"I really owe Mountain Vali" Lydia admits to Dagmar as they walk together, "Kinain almost NEVER get to do this sort of thing"

The young Kinain and Dagmar don't hang out much. Lydia prefers Goldfinch, Dagmar prefers Rivervale, but they're not strangers, obviously. Like her mom, Lydia is satyr blooded, and while it seems strong, she's still a second class citizen by most kithain standards. The fact she is helping deliver a balefire ember would be unheard of in some baronies.

"Well, it can be dangerous. And kinain don't always have the means to easily defend themselves from chimerical threats."

"Kinain tend to handle banality loads better than kithain, though. Strengths and weaknesses tend to be two sides of a coin."

"I know" She nods "And I ... you know, LOGICALLY I get it. But it... it sucks being left out so I'm really grateful we're doing this together. Both of us. You can handle any monsters... I can shoo off any really deadhead autumn folk"

"Speaking of which, let's move to the other side of the road" She suggests as she sees to sons of adam approaching

"Teamwork."

She nods.

The two approaching spike with bits of banality, and Dagmar can hear them talking a bit about politics, or more accurately, talking about how HELPLESS they are... "Not like we can do anything about anything. It's all shit" says the defeatest "Well, you know, both sides" Says the other, taking refuge in ignorance. Neither rather glamourous

A small grimace.

And the kinain moves between her and the street, and , also 'blocks' the interaction even more. The Ember still burns, fortunately but it should be kept away from them and thanks to avoidance, it is.

Lydia talks to herself more than Dagmar, taking notes "Two guys, early 20s... one brown hair, blue eyes bit on the stocky side. The other darker brown, brown eyes on the slender side. Both about 5'10 five 11"

Dag powers by, trying to ignore the pair.

They get by, and once they turn a corner, Lydia says "You okay?"

"uh-huh."

She nods "Okay. Good thing is they didn't get close to the Ember"

Between the ember at her side blazing, and the cold chill now behind them, it's to Dagmar's credit that she feels another source of glamour slightly ahead and above

The chimerical raven has oddly green eyes, it is large compared to the average Autumn Raven, and appears to trail a kind of smoke from it's open black wings. It casts a hungry gaze on the lantern and Ember, and begins to swoop down, no doubt hoping to snag the prize before the groundlings can react!

She presses the lantern into Lydia's hands and INTERPOSES herself between them and the bird. "Nope."

Lydia takes it and almost hunches over it like a curled up pillbug. The Raven, which had thought it had an easy snatch, has to redirect not to crash into Dagmar, and her mighty wall of 'Nope.' It spins about and flaps , protesting bitterly at the injustice of people who will not let it steal shinies! not just ANY shiny either!

It darts back and forth making threats with beak and talons, but doesn't really connect. It's trying to intimidate Dagmar.

She Brows trollishly at it.

Its green eyes flash, and for a moment, Dagmar feels a strong urge to rant about her problems, take a little me time, complain and Kvetch LOUDLY. The urge to go 'raving' about this or that builds

Dagmar's mighty brows are a force, but it is a will of steel behind those brows that have her rebuff the Raven's rede quite easily. Get a troll to whine and bitch and moan WHILE On duty? Good luck with that, bird!

"Go on, beat it, before we sic a Skywolf on you!" Lydia tells it!

"See? Teamwork."

The Raven flies off, with many an avian gripe, and now on the look out for winged wolves

Lydia smiles at Dagmar's comment "Yeah, not bad. Wow, I don't know what magic that raven tried to use on you, but I felt it. And you didn't even blink. Awesome" A bit of hero worshp perhaps or maybe it just WAS awesome. Maybe both , and they resume "Guess Chimera see that thing as the ultimate prize huh?"

"It's pure Glamour, yeah."

"And chimera, and fae - we need it to live, really."

"To 'be' is how Zane puts it" She says "He's always been smart at that stuff. Though I don't want him to get a swelled head. Big brothers are smug enough" Still she sounds fond. They move on their way and see someone approaching. Hard to tell in the night from this distance, but it's another kithain

"Mm. Be, too, I guess. But, like - when you aren't enchanted, you're still you."

"Some fuzzy spots in your memory - I mean, we get Mists from going to the Dreaming, so we have fuzzy spots, too."

"But Forgetting, being Undone, it's... " She shakes her head.

"That sounds horrible" she admits

Prissy comes up, the She Cap snorts "Oh, its YOU" Seeing Dagmar "So much for needing muscle. How's it going, Lydia, Dagmar?"

"You aren't fucking up , looks like" She adds in a compliment, ala redcap standards

"We have muscle. Free sidewalk, though, if you wanna come along as we go to Goldfinch."

"mmmph, any threats so far?" She asks

"Two slightly chilly guys" Lydia gives her description of them "We just got to the other side"
