Black glittery streamers. Spot lights in uncomfortable colors. Derelict instruments that look certain never to play again, but equally likely to house some misbegotten spirits. Haunting posters of tragically deceased musicians augmented with glow-in-the-dark paint. Grim lyrics painted in wanton strokes upon sheets hanging from the walls outside. Oh, yes...Goldfinch is ready for trick-or-treaters.

Rikki looks about, wearing her angel costume "So help me, if someone puts candy in MY Drugs, I'm gonna be pissed"

Sylvi, decked out as a latter-stages Amy Winehouse, smirks as she empties a bag of candy into a large bowl. "Yeah, can't mess with purity, right?"

Rikki rubs at her face, and to those that look, the fuddle , well, the costume says Angel, the face says Karen Carpenter

"I liked her, she was like me, she looked DOWN on creation" A sniff "Puny Creation"

"Ha! Nice one." She looks up and down the block. "Love it when the kids start showing up...but some of the parents are absolute turds."

"You want me to unleash on the mortal grumps?" Rikki pops her knuckles.

"Leave some for me," she says with a wink.

She has a "skirt" of empty liquor bottles hanging from her belt, clinking gently as she moves.

All in black, a figure enters... as Dirk Enters, as Johnny Cash "He was a badass, and I don't want no grief"

"Grief? Mad respect, Peacekeeper." She offers him a fist bump.

He gives it, "Okay, I got a tag along and I don't want grief about..."

"Me" Jodi speaks up, the little girl redcap says "He means me. I gotta learn about samhain"

"You brought a childling?" Rikki blinks

"Hey, Jodi!" Sylvi's met her, but not spent a lot of time near her while at college. She hands the girl a full-size Snickers bar...and then gives one to Dirk, too.

The girl snarfs it down with a chomp. She is dressed like a zombie Shirley temple, despite the fact she didn't die until an adult.

Sylvi makes a mental note to make sure Jodi gets a lollipop for that costume concept.

Rikki whispers to Sylvi "Ah, aren't we a bit too Pee Gee unuckly number for kids?"

DIrk says "Hey you just got a gift, what did I say about manners?" He tells Jodi

"Oh right." Jodi pounds her chest and burps "Got more?"

"More like it" Dirk nods

It honestly hadn't even occurred to Sylvi until that moment. "Huh. Hey...Dirk...after sundown, she's going back home, right? Or maybe hanging out with the childlings at the Lodge?"

"Okay, that's cute," she says at Jodi's manners. "One more," and another Snickers gets handed over. "But we gotta have enough to keep the mortal kids happy...and we get a LOT of mortal kids coming by."

Dirk looks up "Hey, I'm supposed to teach her about samhain, waht we can't hang here?"

"Because AFTER sundown...things might get kinda... wilder."

A significant look.

Dirk blinks "OH. OH uh. okay. I'll take her trick of treating after the start"

"You will?" Jodi beams

DIrk says "Sure, nice think about that is terroizing folks when they give you toothbrushes and religious tracts."

Rikki admits in a whisper to Sylvi "He believes the children are our future, teach them hell and watch them bleed the way?"

A smirk at Rikki. "I mean, you can come back later, Dirk? After she goes to bed or whatever?"

"I'm not going to bed.. CANDY" Jodi says munching

But behind her, Dirk gives a discrete nod

"Right, sorry. You're a badass." Sylvi nods seriously.

"Hey, Kiddos" the Vice president comes in looking like Janis Joplin, at least that's the outfit

"Hey, Jodi, do you actually know any of Shirley Temple's songs? You could really creep out the adults by singing them really spooky, and then giving them a smile that's just a leeeeetle too big."

"I LOVE SHirley temple"

"Hey, Etsie!" Sylvi's pleased to see the satyr grump.

"Ah, Joplin, I knew her, did I ever mention that?"

Etsie smiles

"Probably lots" Dirk says "You talk a lot"

"What a sweet heart" Etsie says of Dirk, then turns to Sylvi "SPeaking of nice outfits, Looking good Winehouse"

Sylvi shimmies a little to make her bottles clink, much like Jacob Marley's chains. "Thank you! Oh, hey, Etsie, have you met Jodi?" she says, gesturing to Shirley Temple.

"I'm a little princess.. of death" Jodi explains

Sylvi Winehouse also happens to be wearing a pair of very high-heeled shoes. She's towering.

"I bet you are" Etsie says, then says "I heard about her, but haven't had the pleasure. Let's hear it , kid."

Jodi says "Kicks or Treat!" And holds out a bag, then shakes her food menacingly

Dirk Actually looks proud at that

Etsie mutters something about extortion , and gives the kid some jelly beans

A laugh. "Good line!"
