The glow of the balefire is inviting and comforting. "C'mon, grab a seat," Sylvi invites, dropping to sit cross-legged atop a few of the throw pillows.

Dagmar sits down, though she's not relaxed - back straight, and shoulders still wanting to curl.

Above them, music plays in one of the studios

"So...she's doing great. Out there, in Cali."

A tiny jaw jut. Shrug. Nod.

"Yeah."

A pause. "Y'know...sometimes you say that you're fine when you're not."

Dodgy eyes and a shrug.

"I mean, I've done it, too. So maybe May's not doing quite so good as she's saying. I mean, I want her to be doing great, but...I mean, she's reaching out, right? Maybe she feels like she needs you."

"She doesn't. She doesn't need me, she's off doing everything she wanted and making new friends, she's doing great."

"And I want her to be doing great."

"So it's good she is."

"But what I'm saying is that she's saying it. In the letter. But if she were doing all that great, she'd...like...maybe she wouldn't be reaching out. She'd be too busy to reach out." A pause. "She sent you her script. Have you read it?"

Dagmar shakes her head.

A thoughtful nod. "I wonder if it's good?"

"Of course it's good."

"Why of course?"

"Because May wrote it."

A grin. "Yeah. I hope they're not turning her into drek out there."

A blink! "Oh! Oh, oh, oh!" She bounces a little and bites her lip. "I just had an idea."

She seems to be reluctant to share it, though, unless Dagmar gives her the go-ahead.

"Yeah?"

A smile. "You said it's in an envelope, right? With pictures? So, it's on paper, right?"

"Yeah?"

"So...you take it, you read it, you leave her little notes in it, like, where you like stuff or where you have an idea, and nudge a tiny bit of glamour in there. Then you send back the script. She'll read it, she'll get the little glamour boost...and you'll still be musing her!"

Frown. "I dunno."

"Okay. Tell me the weak spot in that plan."

Shrug.

"Like... it's not the same."

"Oh, no, I'm not trying to say it is."

"Yeah, well."

"She'll probably find some new fae out there."

"I mean, she's a beacon, right?"

"Probably. Yeah, they're probably flocking to her. But she's reaching out to you."

"Like...we can get food anywhere, right? But sometimes we really need our Moms' food."

"Right..."

"So...would our Moms deny us our favorite dinners just because we've been feasting on Crimson Knight wings?"

"No..."

"So...send May some of that musing that she's asking for. I think she needs it."

"I guess I'll read through it and see."

Sylvi smiles. "I'd love to see it, too. Or maybe hear you read parts of it you like? But I know it's special."

"I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it."

"No, it's okay, I figured," she assures.

The fire's light does seem to strengthen Dagmar's seeming

"I'll double check?"

Sylvi notes this. "Hey, if you want, we can stay here a few hours? Get back to the apartment super late? I just figure...." A shrug towards the balefire. "Booster, right? And we can have Symon here, too? He hasn't had a lot of balefire access, either."

She chafes her upper arms. "I dunno."

"You mean, about Symon? Or about staying longer?"

"Staying longer."

"Okay. We don't have to," she assures easily.
