The tunes are playing at volume, a mix of perennial favorites like "Monster Mash" and some spooky stuff that nobody's heard of in decades, like Undertaker's Blues by Helen Gross & The Kansas City Five. The recordings, which should be scratchy and muddy, are surprisingly clean and sharp -- courtesy of Goldfinch's particular magic.

Indeed, as is the nature of youth, some old songs dusted off, they act like they invented, much to Etsie's amusement. GOld finche seems to thrive this night, it has never been restrained about it's unseelie componenet

The trick-or-treaters have been coming by in droves, and Sylvi delights in giving the kids treats and making the parents worried about what kind of influence she is on their little sweethearts. Of course, each treat goes out with a Goldfinch card, advertising lessons and studio rental space.

Mixed messages, surely, but...memorable.

Rikki , already Unseelie seems to change little in attitude, bedeviling folks who annoy her, then showing small acts of fun

It is the boggans, Lucia and Ramona and others that maybe the most surprising, the mists settling in, they get to indulge in the darker side of fae natures, THEY choose what people 'need'

So very helpful of them. Sylvi wonders if one of them will think that Rikki needs a shaved head.

Change is good right?

Change can be fun!

The Samhain experience is both indoors and outdoors...candy distributed outside the entryway under the auspices of the watchful stained-glass bird, and partiers gathering inside in the various studios and hallways. Some of the rooms are bright and lively, some are more spooky with plenty of dark corners. And of course, for those who can find it, the freehold proper is there.

There are screams, usually followed by laughs, a good scare can be a thrill. There are other sounds too..whispered promsies in ears, overtures

all this between the music

A perfect trio!

Plenty of treats and drinks...including plenty obtained by Sylvi with a slightly altered age on her ID. The solo cups are everywhere.

Occasionally a mortal manages to be cool enough -- or stupid enough -- to be welcomed into the party. Their experience is, at best, dizzying.

And she sees Basil and Lyron, the two male satyrs , one as Tupac , the other Bob Marley

Sylvi smiles and dances over to them, looking very smug at how the party's going so far. "Hey! Badass party, right?"

"SHe's gonna take credit for this" Basil explains to Lyron

Lyron laughs "Well, not just her, but she deserves props. Yeah, " the Dancer looks at her, "You and Piper and Etside know how to throw a party. Great theme"

"As if I don't deserve the credit," she says with a pout to Basil.

"Yeah, I came up with it, and Piper was, like, all-in. I mean, it's perfect for us, right?" she gestures around.

"We're gonna shut down trick-or-treats outside at around 9, I think. Only big kids for big party after that. And...who knows what else might show up," she adds with a grin.

"Looking forward to it," Basil says "You wanna dance? We dance well together, did before"

She gives him a sly smile that's not keeping any secrets. "About time you asked."

Basil takes her into his arms without restraint and shame

She laughs, but pushes away. "Dancing," she emphasizes, "not dancing."

"But that's my best move" He assures

"Show me some of the rest," she says, leading the way into a crowd of others who are moving to the music. "C'mon, Lyron, we're not ditching you!"

The islander satyr grins "Not feeling so seelie myself. You sure you want to risk two satyrs dancing, might blow your brains"

"You afraid of what I might do to yours?" she says, a challenge.

But she's already dancing. Whether or not she's dancing with Basil is arguable. She's dancing for herself, and others get to enjoy it!

SHe moves with sensual motion, loving herself, and letting others worship if they want to; all the SMART People are. Two men close on her, like orbing planets around a star, the star

As they should. They're ornaments to her dance, props.

She moves towards one, then the other, then evades them both, then returns...and never seeming to be paying particular attention to them.

Oh it is hard to ignore them for real, muscles twitch like wild panthers tensing for the leap, but she's the prey, that's not powerless, they DIE without her

The bird panics... as group of voices ring out

"The shadow priestess is here, and now? She takes charge" And a sidhe, writhed in shadows enters, and Sylvi feels her dance ending, as she and everyone there drops to their knees by the power of soveriegn

Sylvi lets out a startled sound as the cantrip shoves her down. A moment of confusion...and then the anger rises FAST. She strains against the force holding her down in her own freehold!

The Sidhe approaches, her colors are those of winter night, and it is hard to tell what house she is. She looks so pleased, at them all kneeling "Who was holder here? You may speak"

"WAS?!" Sylvi strains to stand, "I AM the holder of this Freehold, and you may leave if you go now. If you stay, it will go badly for you."

"Carnival is for fools and kings, though in this barony I hear they that is redundant," The priestess flows forward "But Samhain, Samhain is for Priestesses ..." SHe moves to the still straining Sylvi, and cups her chin, "Should I mark you? Set you on the path of corruption? And thus ensure that through you, I touch the flame as well?"
