Given that Sylvi (with Zara) commited treason against the DeBukes traditions, with their Chief's help, there a kind of giddy energy as she walks into the light of Goldfinch. then again, the balefire was born of dreams of going left when others try to force you right, and so on. Bit of a rebel this hold. At least enough she feels a charge out of it

The fact that it has to stay a secret, too...that makes her grin with a twinkle in her eye.

She doesn't precisely remember what happened in the Dreaming...except for one of those moments of sudden startle-falling...but she knows they did what they set out to do. Agnes is where she wants to be.

Yes. agnes is.. happy. Weird to think of her as Happy. She was stoic, serious, supportive. There. Always. Yeah, she deserved a break

"So?" jordan asks "How'd it go?"

Jordan isn't here nearly as often as Linwood, Centaur wise, but it would appear folks took up the post while the funeral went on at the farm

"Oh, well...not quite the way the DeBukes wanted it to go." She explains about Agnes having already "left this life" before being able to give her essence to the balefire. "Some people are pretty upset about it. Others figure it's Da'an."

"She definitely held on right to the end, though. Couldn't get too far away from the balefire, but still sharp and cantankerous."

"Everything okay here?"

"Teaching wise, went fine. Linwood and Romana helped there. Prissy beat the shit out of a homeless guy who peed against an outside wall.... then romana gave him the address to a shelter. The music collection here is growing. What we make, and old stuff found. Oddest thing was... well, we have new vinyls?"

"New vinyls? Where did those come from?"

"THey appeared last night" He says "Linwood swears they weren't there before" He offers them up

Curiously, she takes them, realizing as she does that these might be the inheritance from Hearth Agnes. She looks over the titles.

The titles are odd.... 'Mama's first Lullaby' 'First Song learned' 'first grieving' 'first kiss' 'puppy love' 'first heart break' 'True love' 'sharing ourselves' ,,,

'Wedding Bells denied by war' 'the struggles of kin ' 'Duty is stronger than love' 'Planting seeds' 'young sprouts' ...

that's the song titles on just the first albulm mind you

She frowns, puzzled, and checks the album title. Does she know the artist?

On the Cover is Agnes... it's almost like a holocover, twist it, and you see different ages.

"I haven't played it yet. " Jordan says

There are a list of artists, some are obscure or old so she doesn't know them. Most are old actually

"Oh...." she breathes. "Oh...wow...."

"I think we should put it on," she says quietly.

"IF only we had something that would do that" he says dryly

She gives him a look. "Wiseass."

"Okay okay" A record player is found

And soon the A-side of the album is playing.

What proceeds is.. well, actual songs... and it's not hard to realize that the titles aren't SONG titles, but parts of Agnes' life. Yes, she will eventually get to the song where agnes made love for the first time...which might make one blush. she had a song she assocated with sex/

Many are heart breaking, songs of loss, frustration, and yes, will. Not all are ancient. Some times we find a song that fits us beyond our generation. 9-5 is on there for example. Perhaps speaking to a working woman's annoyance

Sylvi settles in to listen, sometimes rapt, sometimes laughing, and sometimes sentimental.

"I never would have expected an Agnes mix-tape," she says to Jordan at one point.

"Wait? What?" he blinks "That was about the lady who died?" Jordan asks

A sense of smugness radiates, not from him, but from the fire

She shows him the cover of the album. "This is her. Was her."

Sylvi is a bit confused about the fire. Pleased, she would have expected...but smug?

She mentally checks-in: What's that about, Ms. Thing?

"Hey, she's kind of attractive in that.." He notes a period skirt when she was in her late teens

"I only knew her in her old age. I mean, obviously. But yeah, she had it going on, didn't she?"

"Yeah, but...." he observes "the older she got, the less she smiled"

Duty replacing her own happiness.

the bale seems to puff up weakly. And.. wait... did sylvi just get a 'I did that' vibe?

A nod at Jordan's observation. "She had a lot of things she had to do that weren't easy. A lot of responsibilities. A lot of loss, too."

Then her brow furrows. "Did you notice anything weird with the balefire last night?"

"It flared up a bit, stronger than normal, then tired out. I figure it was just some Beltaine thing. It is tomorrow you know?"

This isn't from the Farm, then? she thinks at the fire. This is a...tribute album?

Prissy stomps in "Shit... some dross is missing from the treasury. Not a lot... like just one, but.. no body wrote down they were taking it. If rikki did this, I'm gonna bite her tail off"

at that, the bale goes from smug to sheepish. she is not a powerful fire. She needed... something. But hey, still, show her ANY other freehold that makes tribute albulms magically?

Sylvi exhales. "No, Prissy, I think it's okay. I think I know what it's about. And I authorize it, retroactively. But good looking out!"

You're amazing, she thinks at the fire.

"no problem" she snorts then asks in typical bluntness "old troll lady get burned and cheered?"

"Well, yeah. Kinda. It got a little complicated, but yeah, she's gone. This is her, see?" She shows Prissy the album cover. "She was a pretty amazing lady."
