"Who is Jack?" Piper asks, innocently.

"Fine, jackshit" she snorts "I mean I don' have the power to... huhm.. well, maybe if I helped you?"

"If there was a way to line the path with glowing embers to throw off some heat and guide the way, like Rudolph's nose, it might be just enough to help them make it through the storm without getting lost? My worry is that with the snow blowing and gusting and covering like it has been outside," She shivers at this, "They might stumble right off the silver."

"Me? Geez." She laughs a bit. "I just think up ideas, I don't have any real power. If it was just a matter of seeing, maybe a song to orient by, but anything I tried would be whipped away. You can't outsing a storm, it would be like a sluagh trying to be heard at a concert."

"Well, you got ideas, but neithe of us has the power enough so how do we make the idea happen?"

"I mean, who do we know who COULD Make it happen?"

"That's the problem. I don't know anyone with that kind of magic, either." She frowns, then brightens a bit. "But I know who might know... Vali? The new Mountain knows pretty much everyone around, and if he doesn't know someone who can do it, they probably aren't in Bergen."

"Well, he's one of the grumps who doesn't think texting is of the debil"

She has her phone out and is tapping away.

TXT: Worried about t storm. What if 🔥 :woman-running: can't get through? Have some ideas, but no 🧙 🧠 .

She sighs a bit. "I wish Zane was still around. Vali is great, but Zane is fam, you know? You ever met him?"

"Sure , goes around stroking his pube beard and doing wizard talk?"

Piper can't help a laugh! "Yeah, that's him."

"He's okay" She says

She pockets her phone. "Vali's on the way. I'll go turn on the porch light."

Piper shrugs out of her little nest of blankets and heads to the front, where she taps softly on the glass, checking to see if snow or frost has built up over the bird that lives within the window.

She winces and turns on the light, it was off because no one was expected to come by through the storm. "Here you go... it's not much, but it might keep the frost from building up if you stick near the bulb?"

"Oh hell.. hold on" Prissy says, and gets a paper plate, and goes outside. There are munching sounds, as she scoops the snnow up on the paper plate, then, plateful by plateful, begins shoving the snow in her mouth. It's gott to be cold, but it's working even bettter than a shovel for the snow doesn't have to be piled anywhere

"You'll freeze!" Piper scolds her, worried! "Oh, for the love of..." She fetches her layers, quickly bundling up. leggings, leg warmers, shirt, sweater, jacket, long puffy coat, hat, gloves, scarf - and THEN she heads out with a shovel.

"Just scoop it up, and I can hopscotch the pile out of the way..."

"Whatt? It's what we do!" The cap fusses... but tries to do as directed...

Piper uses tunes from Frozen for her bunks, and works to shift the piles of snow out of the way. Some folk parked on the street might be unhappy later that their cars are buried, but at least the sidewalk and entryway might be cleared?

As she sings from Frozen, of all things, the "Cold never botherred me anyway" line causes not a hopscotch, but a thaw, a melting, then finally a steaming! until the entire front of Goldfinch's outside is free of snow with spa like vapors rising up! Oh, that will tturn snow again but yards away

Blink blink. A glance to Prissy. "Good work there..." Half statement, half question?

"that was YOU , goaty... The glamour came from you" Prissy blinks "Why didn'tt you tell me you had Pyretics?"

"Because I don't!" She refutes!

"Well, it came from you, you bunked.. and WOOSH.. steam bath"

"I know a little summer, some Aphrodesia, not that I like to wave that around, and enough Wayfare to have earned a girl scout badge, but that's it!"

"Look, I kenned what I kenned... " Prissy huffs "You said 'the cold doesn't bother me anyway' and WOORSH"

"What's the yelling abou... whatt's with the steam?" Vali asks

as he comes into view

Piper looks confused as all heck. "But... " Looking down at her mittened hands as though she will find answers there.

She looks up to Vali. "I don't know." She admits.

"Huhh.. okay... " He looks about

"Prissy?"

"She did it" Prissy snorts "She bunked and this happened. But her horns are ingrown"

"ExCUSE me? My horns are perfect!"

"Well, something is getting to your brain" Prissy huffs

"Okay, let's not insult horns... let's go inside shall we?" Vali directs

"Yes, come in. I don't suppose you came from the lodge, did you?" Suddenly hopeful.

"I was there a half hour ago.. lots going on. Dagmar and my wife fought off Sovi-yetis" He says

"Kerri send anything with you? Yes, I'm shameless." A grin as she leads Vali in, and strips out of the snowy clothes.

"As a matter of fact," he pulls off his back pack and offers it to her "Some thermos of real coco... and oh, this sealed bowl is General Tso's Cauliflower? I didn't know the General did a caulflower instead of a chicken, but there you go."

"Blasphemy" the redcap shudders

"Do you want some, or not?" She asks Prissy. To Vali, "P's been out working her tail off." Piper is not sure doing WHAT, but it's safer to assume 'helping'

"Oh there's also some sliders ala meat in there"

A grin and she tosses the bag to Prissy. "Kerri will want the containers back." She advises, and beams to Vali. "You're a life saver. So... tell me. Tell me I'm over thinking things and the Firebrands know their business since Time Immemorial, and I'm worrying about nothing?"
