"He might not be one of yours, I was thinking he came in for the job but might seek Kith company."

"Well, I keep one ear open for th' name. I mean, really sounds more like somebody InkBoy would know, y'know?" Jessica might recall one of Tweak's milder names for Duff. "An' I ask my peeps, see if'n they know anybody. You want I should tell them why I'm askin'?"

"Definitely not; I'd like to sweep him up nice and neat and he deals in bang and boom so it should be kept quiet."

"Usin' yer head fer once. A'ight. Tell you what...if I don' hear anything from my peeps, then I put out bait, say I gotta job an' lookin' to hire somebody what can do small-scale explosives. See if that drags up anybody."

"Great idea!"

"And... " a sigh "I'll have word sent to Duff. You're right, he might know something."

"Ya make it sound like the fuckin' firing squad. I mean, th' man could be, but prob'ly not fer you."

"Different kinds of firing squad, I guess. Thanks, Tweak."

"De Nada. Hey, we gots t' talk Pennons soon. Find ten minutes when yer damn life ain't bein' endangered and shit, and hit me up."

"I will. Thanks again."

Talking to Duff... there's a mission

A mission for... an emissary. Jess sips her margarita as she considers options. Nancy. That'd be a good one.

Nancy is a good sport about courier duty

And is soon found, "Hey, you sent for me? Oh is it true someone tried to hurt Ellie? "

"Ellie, me, others, yes." She sets the glass down "Could you go over to Duff's studio and see if he knows, or could find out, about a nocker called Blizy? Works with explosives."

She nods and readies to go t hen "No one on our side was hurt though?"

"No, thanks to a team effort."

"Whew" She says "Thank you. On my way to Duff then"

"Thanks."

And off she goes

She finds a seat, and takes it.

And she drops her head into her hands with a sigh.

Well, that won't save her

But she can decline to text back

And so she does.

When Siv comes in through the front door, rather than the trod, it tells her something. Her sister was already in the city.

And she is announced by Phobos, "Lady Captain Siv Waveborne ap Fiona... requesting an audience with the Countess" A beat "That's you, Jessica, she said which one..I asked. So... there you go"

"Yeah, sure, send her in. Hi Siv."

The outfit is not her sister's usual swawhbuckler style

"Nice look." she compliments.

She curtsies then says "Thank you. Let me do this all formal like, first" Then announces "As requested, Baron Kelean has sent a representative. "

"Oh God...."

"I didn't ask for a representative, I just told Dad what was going on down here and asked him to make the Baron aware. Telephone game."

"Well, don't blame da, not sure it occured to him they'd send me. And frankly, I would have come anyway. How's the security on her?"

"Pretty sure it was obvious you're exactly who he'd send. And that you'd come anyway. Tight. Guards in place and she's in an area that is secure."

"Good. " She says "And thank you. As her assault on a Bergen citizen is documented, will you be willing to turn her over to Mother?"

Jess is quiet, thinking. "I wonder if the Duke and Count Hemlock should talk?"

Siv is normally out going, and warm, but she seems stoic , almost super contained

"Let's face it... none of us are disinterested or impartial."

A tilt of her head "What crime did she commit here? "

"Tried to kill a bunch of people."

At that, troll brow of surprise then, gently "Are your people okay?"
