Phobos announces, his voice carrying

Jessica has arranged to be in the formal court room when they arrive; she's not dressed for court, mind. Her usual working clothes, plain and simple, but the setting is right.

Baron Tidemarch is dressed more formally. By his side is one of his knights, Jessica forgets his name, and a woman bearing the description of Lady High feather.

"Welcome to Fenix, Baron. Will you introduce me?" she says pleasantly.

"Lady Highfeather, this is Countess Jessica King, Called the flamefree, ruler of Renascence, keeper of the Fenix flame , and my liege. Your excellency, this is Lady Lyanda Highfeather, a guest who has sought haven with me"

Then he adds "I believe you have met Sir Brundt before though I do nopt believe you spoke"

The knight bows

The Lady curtseies

She nods acknowledgement to the knight. "Of course. A pleasure to see you again." then "Lady." another nod "What brings you to Renaissance?" She gesture for food and drink.

At the name 'king' the woman looked just a wee bit... on guard?

Lady Highfeather says "Oh, a few personal matters, your excellency, but I confess I was also concerned for the situation down here. I give to charities you see, and with the damage from the storm I thought your people might be suffering. " She smiles "I have to say, your County seems to have faced nature's wrath well"

"Thank you. Refreshment?" she offers.

"Of course" She begins to get drinks "And what will you have?" She asks "I am here, allow me to serve you"

(Hopefully there's Fenix staff available to serve the Countess and visitors?)

The servant in question, says "No, Lady... please, that is my task" And he knows what Jessica prefers

"What will you have, Shining lord, Shining lady?" he inquires

"The wine looks quite nice" Tidemarch says, then to Lady Highfeather "The Steward Diego is a revolutionary, former I suppose, but despite his dislike of the system, he knows his wines, Lady High feather"

"Then I shall try it as well" Lady Highfeather says

"Diego does indeed know his vintages." Jess agrees. She herself will have a coffee.

"Please...." she invites them "Shall we sit?" There are seating areas dotted around.

And they do, taking seats

"This really is a lovely hold, your excellency" Lady Highfeather says "I hear it is a place of fine healing"

She nods. "We're blessed in that way. While we're not pushing things, we have yet to find a wound or illness that Fenix cannot help."

"you must be very proud" she says "But, please, do not let my presence distract from what ever courtly business you and Baron TIdemarch have" A sip

"Of course. Baron, word will be going out shortly but I wanted to tell you myself; we're planning a county-wide fiesta. A way to relax and celebrate what we've come through together."

The Baron considers this, then nods "Marvelous. Of course my Barony will see to its part, but I find when a challenge is met and bested, it is well to enjoy the fruits of it"

Jess nods. "Diego will be in touch."

Tidemarch nods "I see. Very well. Our resources are strained but we'll make our contribution."

"I think if we all contribute, there will be enough; and we're not doing this for a couple weeks anyway, give us a chance to recover."

"Ah, excellent by then most should be well" The Baron nods

Lady Highfeather admires the hold as she enjoys her wine

"Where do you call home, Lady?" politely curious.

"I travel a great deal, your excellency, thus I would say I'm a citizen of the world. It's an exciting way to live. "

She nods "How do you know the Baron?"

"We've only recently met" She answers "I thought the worse damage from the storm might be by the shore which was another reason for my request for haven there while I considered charity options. You know... " She says "If you're short of resources for this party, I might be able to assist"

"We wouldn't ask that of you." Jess says firmly, then asks the Baron "How -did- Sunkissed Waves fare? I didn't hear anything immediately."

"The waves were rougher than one could imagine, but I'd taken the precautions of preparing key weaver wards on the beach against them... to divert the excess water back into the ocean. " At that he admits "it was exhausting. And not, obviously, 100 percent effective, but even turning one tenth of the storm back was... useful. With forewarning we had the shores clear of our own citizens, though I did also send warning to any nunehi allies in my area, which are to be sure , few"

Jess nods. "Good thinking, Baron, thank you."

"It was not my endeavour alone, but you are welcome. I have some very potent knights who endangered themselves for the commonfolk and more. It is one of the reasons I am heartened to hear of this festival. Recognition for them is due" He nods "I may send a list of those I believe to be stand outs at sunkissed waves"

"Please do." she agrees. "Where were you before you arrived here, Lady?" she turns to include Highfeather.

"Kansas, believe it or not. " A sip from her

"Oh, I would believe it. There's a saying about all roads...."

"Yes, I suppose they are truly middle america" she says "What of yourself, your excellency? Forgive, but you don't look like what one would expect of a local"

"I'm not a local, no. But I'm here now, and that's what matters. To me, at least."

"Oh i do not doubt, I was merely curious where your last home was?"

"Before I came here I was in the Peace Corps for a while."
