The kitchen is BREWING... and steaming...

Gerd is helping. She hadn't even announced herself.

"Gerd?"

"Hey, Jessica. what's shaking?" She keeps working on the huge bowl of stew "I brought healing cookies, and enough spare food to feed a horse or three. Tig texted me you might be needing supplies and since you guys on the West coast are hogging all the Hurricane for yourself, I figured it would do more good over here"

"Well, Southern California is, a little...." she responds in answer to the question. "Thank you." a little nonplussed at it all.

"Day in the life for your average witch" She shrugs it off "Besides, Holger wants one of our puppies. Got to protect the investor" wryly "now, " she turns "how else can I help you? Need me arround flying folks out of the flood or folks flicker flashed to other locations that I know of? "

Jess gets herself a cup of coffee. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I just sent our prisoners home, with Diego and Otem. We're consolidating sheltering our Dreamers to make it easier to protect them." she drinks her cofee.

"And clearly the food factory is going on" She pauses "Did you send food and supplies to YOUR ally Nunehi?"

She rubs the base of her horns. "I'm pretty sure we did. Maybe we should send more? If we have it; Diego said we might be running thin but I don't know if that was before or after you got here."

"Didn't see Diego so he doesn't know... I can bring more food. Remember, Aunt Kerri has that.. cauldron shaped edge?" the magic cauldron's recreations aren't as GOOD as the original, but tasty enough and can feed a small army

"Right. right. Sorry, not used to thinking about that as a resource."

"Ok, sure. Let's pack up some food for our allies. And water."

She takes a long slug of coffee before standing to help.

"You got it" she says "Want me to just deliver it here, or go with you to their place..." They work as she talks "Wherever that is ..cause I got to see it to work it, then pop it there directly?"

"I mean, the extra stuff. Obviously this stuff here is a good start"

"I think.... just because things are still a little tentative and the storm might put people on edge? Maybe let me take care of delivery the old-fashioned way."

"Good point. Don't want to be attacked while carrying stew. I might bleed into the stew" A nod "I'll send stuff here then let the transport closer be your and your allies problem. I think we can get a whole cauldron of stew going. I mean buckets of it "

"Mm.... I don't mean to be picky?"

"Yeah?" She says

"I mean, beggers can't be choosers." she looks embarassed.

"Maybe... you could set it to carnnitas? And then tortillas?"

"What, no caviar?" But Gerd smiles "Sure. We can do that. Heck, I can even take some of the food from here, and put in there and create slightly less tasty copies by the tub ful there. Good as the food is here, a 9 to an 8 is hardly a loss"

"That'd be great." she's relieved "Times like this, people need the familiar, you know? Not that stew is werid or anything, just...."

Gerd has one of the ladies make a nice bean dish, something all the locals know and consider 'home'

"I can work with this" She says

Jess nods. "Rice and beans are inexpensive and excellent nutrition."

"Oh this I know" Gerd smiles "Okay. I'll head over to the cauldron now. Any messages for anyone?"

"Um... my love to everyone."

"No requests for extra eyes or anything?"

"Gerd, it's going to be difficult enough for you to get back to Rivervale, make food, and get it back here. My people have this. Thanks."

"Difficult. Mmph... should have worn my witch hat. That would make you confident in me" A wink

She gathers the goodies to be duplicated "I'll pass on their love"

And she vanishes!

Jess blinks, and sits back down with her coffee.

"She's a good girl" Maria observes

"Yes." Jess pinches her eyes with her fingers, over the bridge of her nose "Powerful."

"Seriously, makes me feel lazy with my arts" Maria says "Really. Where do they find the time?"

"I don't know...." it turns into a yawn.

"You are tired. Get some sleep. We will wake you if there is emergency"

"Emergency? It's a -hurricane.-"

"Well, okay, if Emergency gets WORSE we wake you. You need rest to be alert and ready, no?"

"I'm fine. A little more coffee."
