She nods, but does not offer to support him; he has a cane, after all. They walk slowly and she takes the opportunity to arrange an escort for him as they pass through the halls.

And soon enough, he and the escort are off. And arguably out of her hair

For now, at least.

Jessica rallies and considers what responsibilities might be pressing.... she goes to check in with Diego on that.

Diego greets her, "Jessica. How goes? Need some strong wine to wash to wash out the taste of tyranny after talking with Tidemarch?" A chuckle

"Not unless you want me to fall over right here in your office." she says, not without mirth "Is there anything going on I need to know about or deal with?"

"Actually no, Ellie has managed a lot on the childling level, and I have good peopple here to work with. I was going to suggest YOU take a rest."

"I will." she assures him... but first, she goes to check on Foamfang.

She is in a large bath tub in the cell area.

"Hello." as she enters.

"Greetings" She says, cautiously

"Are you relatively comfortable? Do you have what you need?"

"You are the fourth person to ask me this" She says "Your hold is... not very typical of how it treats an enemy"

A small smile and soft chuff of laughter. "As I have said, I would not have you or your people as enemies."

"You are my prisoner; there's no honor in abusing you."

"Otem, the traitor, he is returning with more food for me." SHe answers

Jess tilts her head "How would you feel if you were refered to as "Foamfang, the failure?"

"Bristly, we Redwaters are a proud people"

Jess listens.

"We enjoy battle and blood, it is what we do": She admits "But no need to be hateful about it"

"Or rude." she agrees "Otem has served his people honorably and well, and at personal sacrifice. He is not a traitor to his people. He was sent here -by- his people."

"He is no more a traitor than you are a failure."

"HIS people are ALL traitors" She says "They break bread with invaders"

"So have you." She points out.

"Yes, but as a prisoner defiant, not as an ally. " She says

Otem returns 'no mayo, yes?"

"That's right" she states

Jess just smile a little and lets them carry on."

Otem looks to Jessica, "I see we had the same concerns for her well being. " A look to Frothfang "I told you it was different here"

"I defy you both and will fight either of you to the death" She takes the meal "oo.... my favorite cheese. Thank you. Where was I? To the death"

Otem says "Perhaps you should eat first, then threaten?"

"Perhaps" She begins to dine.

Jessica nods. "Ok. Again, Foamfang, if you need anything just let someone know. I'm still trying to figure out an mutually-beneficial exit for you."

"I appreciate it , invader" She nods kindly

Jess nods, and to Otem. "You good?" she checks.

"I am.. still a bit overwhelmed" He admits "I am sorry you had to go through all that to restore me. I feel I have been a terrible inconvience"

"Anything but." she assures him, guardedly due to the Redwater's presence.

He nods to her, realizing they dare not speak too freely in front of a prisoner even one they hope to sway

"Ok. Thanks Otem." she nods, and heads towards her chambers; it's been a long few days.

He goes with her, now that it is just them "Pardon me, Jessica. A moment longer?"

"Sure Otem." she pauses.

"Jessica.. I .. if I focus, I can feel the fire still. I Know the magic worked. I am still nunehi, but I thought i should tell you. "

She nods. "Mr. DeBuke, the Namer, said as much. And I'm ok with that; you're part of Fenix you have a Right to it. Um. Mr. DeBuke -did- say that you should probably keep it quiet for now. Even from your own people. Til you know if they'll still consider you Nunnehi as they are."

Otem ponders this, then sighs "You are right. I don't like this dishonesty but it would not be the first time I've had to keep a secret from one who I considered important to me."

Jessica sighs. "Believe me I don't like it either but I agree with Mr DeBuke. I mean.... if no one asks you directly "Can you use the invader's magic fire to sustain your Glamour Magics....."??

At that he actually chuckles "I suppose the odds ARE slim of that. Thank you, Jessica. You are...I am glad you are in my life"

"The honor is all mine." She offers her hand.

He takes it. The grips are firm. Strong. Warm

She nods, the exchange short, and she turns to go.
