"Powerful sacrifice" Emmit mutters "What was he willing to give up? "

Olgar grunts "Tell you later. Emmit, can you reverse this?"

Emmit shrugs and goes back to humming and working on Otem

Olgar looks ...rather drained. Unlike the Dreaming which provides glamour, leaping INTO dreams means you don't dare take too much from where you've been. So Olgar spent his own for himself AND Jessica

"Hey...." she wades over to him, offering support "Thank you for coming and for helping."

"You'll stay by the 'Fire for a bit?"

"Yeah, sure, just uh.. let me call the better half" He says

"Sure." Jess glances around to see who is present.

Neaby, Constance is scribbling down things

"Constance, could you take a break and walk Olgar to the phone and to the 'Fire?"

"I..well, please recite to me anything that happens while I'm gone later, for the records?" The troll scribe asks even as she readies to escort Olgar

"Sure."

"Thank you" She says

"You can hurry back after he's at the 'Fire." she gives Olgar a stern look that -might- just echo her mother and/or Kerri.

Olgar grumphs "Seen THAT look before. Fine. I'll save the "i'm not THAT old' speech for another time" And he goes

"Thanks, Constance." Jess murmurs as Olgar sloshes out of the pool and away. She turns her attention back to Emmitt.

Emmit keeps working "There you are... that was.. . a nasty curse"

She nods, but doesn't speak until he signals he's done.

FINALLY it finishes and Otem's eyes open and he says "Did the cure help your baron?" ignoring his own concern, Otem focuses on the mission

"It did, and he asked me to pass his thanks and acknowledgement on to you." Jessica says gravely "How are you feeling?" she includes Mr. DeBuke in the question.

Emmit answers first "Impressed. I feel impressed. I wouldn't have made it here in time if not for you and Olgar. I may go get a cup of coffee at your kitchen while you two talk"

Otem gives a grateful look to Emmit, "Thank you, Shaman."

The Namer inclines his head, "Your name is safe with me, Otem. And you are welcome. "

"Please do, Mr. DeBuke, and please accept the hospitality we can offer you now, or at any time in the future. You may have saved the peace we are working for here."

"We're allies, Jessica. And Clem is a friend of yours. Even if this all wasn't my duty, it'd be my pleasure" Emmit says, but does give a kind of sad look at both Otem and her for a moment "And no one can deny your dedicaction to peace"

Mr. DeBuke moves out to find that coffee.

Otem and Jessica find themselves alone. Even Fontaine has stepped away

"Are you -ok-?" she stresses, still worried.

"I am Nunnehi" Otem answers, "And that is what the dream for peace needs." A look at her "I am sorry, Jessica. I did not mean to scare you. I did not mean to... well, I thought I had gotten away clean. This curse was meant to strip me of being a Nunnehi because I had 'chosen an invader's side' but the curse was wrong. You are no invader. You are a true daughter of these lands no matter your blood."

"I thank you for that, Otem. Not sure I agree, but I'm honored you would say that."

"Just to clarify, you were cursed by the mainland Nunnehi?"

"Yes... a powerful shaman was there. He told me that if I took it, he would punish me, that even escape from that punishment would bring me pain"

"How do you feel now?" she asks again.

"Grateful" he says after thinking over it "You came to my rescue... in my very soul. "

"Look, you came to -our- rescue with far less reason. It's the least I could do. You ok to get out of the water?"

He looks down, and for the first time, smiles "I forgot I was still standing in it." He nods and exits it with her

"Jessica, what you saw in my head. I hope I did not have anything open that would make you...uncomfortable?"

"No." a little puzzled he would ask, as she drips on the floor while seeking a towel.

He looks relieved.

At the side of the pool are some spare towels, and some spare pants

For which Jessica is grateful for. She grabs a towel and gets as dry as she can (not very) while saying "I'd like you to meet with Constance and give her a report of what happened. And I'd like to sit in, if I can."

"Of course" He nods "But I ask we share her notes with the elder council"

"We have two Nunnehi prisoners either here, or on the way here. One is a Redwater, the other attacked the Baron and I. Will you meet with them and I?"

"Yes, sure. I'm ok with sharing those notes."

He nods"I cannot promise the prisoners will be cooperative. I Know little of the Redwater people"

"They haven't been real cooperative yet, so no loss there...."

"What do you hope to do with them?"

She sighs. "Well, the Baron wants his champion to duel the one that attacked us and I think we can get the Nunnehi to accept that. Afterwards, send him home.

"The Redwater... that I'm less sure about. We -could- command them with the Arts to never attack Kithain or Baja Nunnehi again." she seems to dislike that option but acknowledge the pragmatism of it.

"The latter is a potent weapon in your arsenal" An admission

"As for the duel? I approve. If the Brave wishes to consider himself a warrior and not a mere assassin, he will HAVE to accept"
