Jess thinks about it. "Tell you what... you stay here, these are your stores and your strength. I'll go talk to Symond and Fawn.... maybe Twofeathers?"

"Maybe... good hunting" A brow lift "Any reason you're still avoiding Nancy? Or am I reading too much into her omission?"

She blinks. "I'm not avoiding Nancy. I thought you said she mentioned Otem? And that it would be kind of a wierd ask?"

"No no, sorry. Nancy mentioned something. I should have been clearer. It wasn't Otem, it was something else"

"Oh. Did it have to do with gifts?"

"I'm not sure, she said she had an idea to win the Nunehi over, said it was big, but she couldn't do it alone"

"Oh. Ok, I'll look for her first, then."

He nods

And she goes to do so.

She finds Nancy chatting people up, being social... but she moves from group to group so it's not impossible to cut in

Jessica chooses her moment, and approaches.

Nancy turns around then sees Jessica, "Happy Beltaine and all that"

"Same to you." she nods "Did you have an idea for... um, something? Diego mentioned."

"An idea for..." She crosses her eyebrows thinking

"Oh.. uhm oh that? Wow. that... " She says "I didn't know if it was appropriate or not but I called someone and it could work... can we go some place a bit more private? "

And she leads Jessica towards an alcove

Jess goes along.

Once there, she says "Well uhm I didn't think of it as a beltaine thing... but you remember I'm well off right? " A sheepish look

She nods.

"Right, well, I would need a mexican citizen to make it happen, national laws and all... but there's about five acres for purchase further out of the city, rural country. Further inland, It's..decent? And it's relatively cheap for now. I was wondering, what if I paid for it... this guy, Caesar? Would help me, then we gifted it to the Nunehi? Kind of a return what was taken to them toeprint? They're kinfolk could live there even if they didn't want to?"

"I mean, we might want to word it as 'returning what is rightfully theirs' if you wish, but do you think the idea has merit?"

"I do. I've had similar thoughts." Jess thinks about it.

"You can move the money around to a Mexican citizen? I mean... without raising red flags?"

"Well, yeah, Diego was a telenovella star. He's not paid THAT well, but we could disguise it as royalties to him and then he does that 'whacky actor' thing. OR we can use Rosa and Maria if you prefer lower key"

"Or.... both?" unsure how it works.

"I mean, spread it out, around, less dense and less hard to see and track?"

"I'll see if I can get some finacial help from Caesar on how to do that best..wait, are we doing this?" Pleased

"I love the idea." Jess begins "I'd like to think it through, though; get to know all the pieces. I mean... we don't want it to be like giving Native Americans Oklahoma, right? Land no one else wanted?"

"I looked into that. It's great, but it's not arid and no good for farming" She shows her smart phone depicting the area "IF they want to farm"

"Right. We should talk with them about it, once most of the big pieces are in place."

"Well, I already started speculation.. And can get a 'hold' on it anytime" She grins "The owner likes me. I'm charming"

She nods agreement "You are. Good. Good. After the holiday, can we meet on this?"

"Sure. I'll send emails out today, tomorrow we should get on the 'top of the pile'"

"Thank you. Any ideas for right now, though?" and she explains the situation.

She listens then nods "I have something but it was meant to be a gift for you"

"Oh, that's not necessary but thank you. And... well, I don't want to appropriate your things for this. It wouldn't be right."

"I can buy you another..." She shrugs "Earl will apprecite the commision"

"Earl... DeBuke? The painter?"

A nod "Sure. Only so many kithain who paint"

"I've met him. He's.... grown. Well, I mean.. I'm not going to tell you what to do with your things."

"Here, I'll show you what I was going to get you and you tell me if you think they like it" She races off, hooves prancing

And returns, showing "Here, it.. kind of moves if you look at it sideways"

Jess does, indeed, look at it sideways.

She swears the eyes are following her...

She looks at Nancy with some confusion. "Earl DeBuke painted this?"

"Yeah, he tends to do weird and spooky, so I guess the eyes moving.. anyway I asked him to do something Mexoamerican in style? You think they'd like it?"

"Ok, yeah, I can see that... um, sure. Maybe. But it's yours."

"We have stuff in the stores, Diego's digging out."

"Oh I'm happy to add it. Sides, you don't seem to like it yourself"
