Jess is quietly thrilled.

Jessica had recieved gifts before, as a leader and priestess. Now it's folks who aren't even in positions at the hold. One boggan who sells clothes is surprised by a lovely blanket she was given. a troll fellow who does hardware has a hand crafted leather tool set holder

Jess, in the course of the day, will seek out Constance to make sure this is all noted and reported as a success story to the Duke.

Constance is writing it down, a smile on her face

And near her is... Duff?

He gets a nod of greeting. "Thanks for your help with the Thaillan."

"Make sure we write this up and let the Duke know, Constance? This is a pretty big damn deal." she says with quiet pride and pleasure.

"You're welcome" Duff nods, then looks around, "Son of a bitch" Duff says "Jessica, you did it. I mean, obviously the work is never done per se but... you did it"

"Maybe not a done deal but... definitely a step forward."

Constance smiles at both and nods "Definitely. It was very generous of them too, there are a lot of kithain here on Beltaine"

"We are reciprocating, yes?" worried.

"Actually, uhm... " constance says "This caught even Steward Diego off guard"

"That's why Duff is here, helping. He.. offered to give free tattoos to many of the nunehi" She goes on

Duff nods "Repay all debts , yes? They admire my work, and want traditional styles"

"Thanks for that." she says sincerely "Do you know where Diego is?"

"he's checking inventory in that storeroom" Constance says "Trying to see what we might give as gifts."

the storeroom is out of the way, considered not really that important, but it does have excess

She nods and goes to see if she can help Diego.

Diego is scrambling through shelves and boxes

"Need a hand?"

"In truth, possibly. I'm scrambling here" He confides

"We have to find 20 gifts to even begin to balance things out"

"No problem." she can reach things down from high shelves, at least.

A very useful talent!

"We have some pressed flowers in books, you think they would like that?"

"Are they local native flowers?"

"Yes, in fact... the childlings helped with it"

"Excellent, then, let's use them."

Three books are found

"Good." she sets them aside "What else?"

"I almost feel like giving them wine or alcohol might be a sensitive area. History, and all."

"Why do you think I'm not handing out some of my second tier wine?" He says

An eyebrow. "Because for a holiday and a success like this it should be first tier?"

"No, because it might offend on historical and cultural grounds... sensitive area." A look "ALso, My top tier wine is HARD to replace"

"As hard as this peace is to gain?" then she waves it off "It's ok, I agree with you about the sensitivity. Nevermind. What else do we have?"

"Hmmm... " he looks about "Ah ha! How do you think they'd feel about a corn doll? It's from the DeBukes"

"Corn is a keystone staple; yes, definitely."

He pulls out the corn doll carefully "That's four"

Jessica looks about finding mostly... well, rather generic gifts, not bad ones, but nothning personal to either any nunehi she knows personally nor fitting their culture

Diego ponders "Think we should get help? I found a few blankets, but then it occurs to me what if they think of plague blankets?"

She'll pull what seems most apt, but not with great enthusiasm.

"Well, they did give -us- blankets...."

"What help, do you think?"

"Hey, maybe we should get Otem?"

"Well, Nancy mentioned something. Otem would know but wouldn't that be more like making him pick the gifts for their own people? Symond is odd but knows mezomerican cultures and might have a few devices that oddly suit them? Fawn maybe?"
