Well, Jess can do more than hope on that last one. She can send word to Tweak about the possibility of FaeInt being used (Fae Intellegnce meaning actual paws on the ground watching from rooftops and street corners). She can also consider carefully those rooftops and how they can be put to work for -her-.

She writes to Tweak: If you can advise on things to help us monitor from above. We've had observation and attack from the rooftops. How do we get eyes up there, or above there?

Tweak's response will have to come later, but the message is sent

And someone announces, "Baron TIdemarch is here"

Jess braces herself for just a moment, then nods. "Please ask him to come in."

He comes in, and bows as he does "Countess. I see I have arrived at a tense time"

"Little bit. But, it's how we make progress. What can I do for you?"

"It is my understanding that you have a prisoner, a Nunnehi?"

"or has that changed?" He inquires

"It has. We -had- a wounded warrior of the mainland Nunnehi. He was treated and escorted out of the county to the boundry with his own lands."

"You...released him. May I ask why? was there some sort of prisoner exchange?"

"No. To my knowledge (or at least the player's knowledge) the mainland Nunnehi are holding no prisoners of ours. I released him to carry a message to his people."

"I see" A frown "Did you perchance get a lock of his hair or have some other means to track him? It is why I came, to ask for the same"

"Well, at first I came here hoping to question him too, but ... it was a plan D"

"We might have some from the materals we used to treat him. I can ask. I would ask first, however, that you share all the information you gain from this. For the good of the County."

"Yes, Everyone should stay in the loop" A brow lift as he says that "But as you like., Your excellency"

She tilts her head. "You agree, then say 'but'? Have I missed something?"

"Merely that I seem to be OUT of the loop somewhat. Yet you want me not to keep secrets of my own. Arguably your rank gives you that privilage, but it is a touch... hypocritical"

"Baron it -just- happened. I just got out an after-action report meeting."

"But you made up your plan to send him out, what, hours ago? We are connected by a very quick trod, your excellency"

Jess is quiet a moment, then she nods. "You're right. I should have sent runners to all the Freeholders to alert them. I was distracted; I won't make the same mistake again."

"I thank you" he says with a lowering of his head, somehow looking no less proud "I am somewhat distracted by matters on the shore. Calder will likely report to you directly later"

"Problem?"

"Calder is not my subject so I have him reporting to you, but I suspect the Mer are actually in trouble. It coudl be to our advantage if they require aid"

"When can I expect him?"

"I am not certain," The baron admits "I if had to guess... " He names a time (WHich is when Rae is available do you two can play together)

She nods. "Thank you for making me aware of it. Just a moment...." she sticks her head out into the hallway, looking for anyone available to take a message.

Nancy sees troll head lunge at out her "Wow.. hey, Jessica. Everything okay?"

"Yes. Are you busy?"

"Nope. What can I do for you?" She says

Jess asks her to go get (whoever it was that treated the warrior's wounds) "Tell them not to throw anything away. They'll know what that means. Thanks."

A nod "Right!" And she breaks off satyr speeds

"We should have an answer for your shortly, Baron. Would you care for refreshment while you wait?"

She returns "Fontaine is still busy with Coy but I have the rags"

"The speed of satyrs is never to be underestimated" The baron observes

"And these are not from Coy, correct?" she clarifies.

"No. They're fr om the prisoner. I made sure of that" She offers up the bag wit hthe rags in it

"Tito Woden was using them, and kept some"

"Thank you. Baron?" she hands them over, or Nancy does.

The Baron takes them, "Thank you" He nods after glancing "Countess, is there something else I know? Fontaine is with Coy? Is Thane Coy injured?"

"Badly, yes. The escort returning the mainland Nunnehi was attacked after releasing him. I believe we have disguised spies in the County."

"I see. This is grim news, but I am glad to know it" He frowns "Is there anything I can do to help? Perhaps loan you some of my own thanes services while he recovers?"

"Yes, that would be welcome if you can spare them. You have the seaward side of the County to protect as well. So you have any ariel reconnesence resources? Something to watch the skies with?"

"That is one area where I fear we may have to rely on Mama capataz" He ponders "I Do have a pooka in my service who is of bird stock, but being a pooka, using him as a source of information is... difficult"

She nods. "I wouldn't put it out of mind just yet. I have other avenues to explore but...."

"I'll hold him in reserve" A nod then "Another option, of course, it to scry upon flying wildlife. You couldn't control them unless they were trained birds or the like, but you could use them as eyes and ears indirectly"

"That seems like a lot of effort for only a possible reward." she ponders "Thank you though for the suggestion. I'm taking all of them. Hopefully I'll hear soon from Mama Capataz and then we'll have a better idea of options. I'm starting to think that controling the skys, if such a thing is possible, is key."

"She'll be quite insufferable if she pulls it off" Speaking of Tweak

Jess nods. "We can suck it up if it bring peace. Or an advantage."

"I suspect the latter is all we will be allowed" He says grimly "I'll return to my own hold then to send some thanes over"
