The flame marked Nunnehi listens and nods, finding the monkey that wears a hat interesting

Salma reads on, and if some of the characters start to appear a little more like kithain and friends in the telling, well, Salma is reading it exactly as written, of course.

As Salma talks, the nunnehi makes a gesture... and flames seem to writhe up, showing images of the figures she speaks of, actiting ouot a story

Salma's eyes widen, but she keeps reading. Impressively, she can watch the flames, and read at the same time! Without even looking at the page, in fact, though she turns it at the precise right time each time.

It would seem whatever Salma says, the flames form into

"Jessica, I think Salma is winning over another nunehi ally" Ash observes

Salma's ears are up, surprised and happy, and she is watching the flame figures dance!

Soon, she is telling a new story, one about a Princess and her friends going to rescue an entire group of lion cub that got lost in a giant labyrinth... it sounds vaguely familiar, even the part where one of the little giant lions almost got fed into a monstrous clothes eating machine...

Laughter and giggles

"I think this area is in good hands." Jess says to Dame Ash, and nods, moving on.

Indeed, Ariel even provides background music, soft so not to over ride the narrator

and JEssica and Ash move on.

Nancy comes by "Okay, WHO is the new Selkie? He's cute"

"Mm? Oh... I didn't catch his name, it's been busy. Apparently there's been a thing, trods and raths and ocean currents and skyways are all disrupted. He got tossed around and fell."

"THe trods I knew about, him falling out of the sky? YIKES... poor dear" Nancy says, then focuses "So far we seem to be doing fine. I was wondering, have we sent word to the Duke? Or even seen if he's okay? "

Jess stares at her for a moment, then nods. "It's not a bad idea. Who could we afford to send?"

"Well," SHe considers "If you like, I could go. I'm no fighter, but I'm not too proud to run in case of trouble"

"You have speed on your side, Nancy, but there are nightmare chimera on the streets. I could find someone to sent with you...."

"You need every person you've got for patrols. Maybe I should get veiled?"

"that won't last long enough" Dame Ash frowns

"Do we have anyone who could flickerflash her there?"

"Not that has admited the gift" Dame Ash admits "I believe Sir Jack can fly but other if he's mastered the art of Wayfare he's never said"

"Damn."

"Maybe the Duke will send someone to check on us."

"I do want to get word to him. And I have to get information to Rivervale and the Rovers."

"Well uhm.. " Nancy blushes "I could call him, does he have a phone?"

"The Duke?"

"He has people who do... good idea. Let me get the number."

Constance keeps records of phone numbers because, well, of course she does. The listing is in the library

Then Jess goes there!

She finds the number, 555-TOP-DUKE

An eyebrow, but she takes it back to Nancy. "Here you go, thanks for handling this."

"Happy to" She nods "Best to keep us all on the same page, right?"

"Yes. If you need to, leave a message. I'm pretty sure he's busy and we're managing. Good idea."

"I will" She bows low "I'll make the call, Countess"

Nancy gets a bit of a glance at the bow, but Jess just nods and goes to see how patrols are running.

Ash raises a brow "You seem surprised by the bow"

And Nanchy is off

A shrug. "Not like I ask, or even want, formality. I think we can all be polite to each other and that suits me."

"She was your friend, and there is now a gap between you." SHe says "i'm not blind, Jessica. You can be hard to read sometimes though and maybe she thinks you haven't forgiven her "

"We've talked."

"Within the last month?"

"Sure."

A brow lift "mmm about the friendship loss I mean"

"Not specifically."

"Jessica, " Dame Ash says troubled "She wants to fix a broken friendship, you have to adress that specifically. She's nervous, not sure how to ask you to forgive her again, and she's not telepathic, she's not going to know when you're ready to give forgivness a chance until you tell her . "

She rubs the base of her horns. "Ok, so I'm going to try and get a handle on the nightmare chimera and figure out what we need to do to fix the trods, keep up the peace with the Nunnehi, and talk to Nancy. Excuse me."

She goes to figure out if the information requested was ever sent to Rivervale.
