"We're going to supply them out of our own resources and backfill from the DeBukes."

"Ah, we call it Corn, they'll call it maize" Dryly "Okay. You're serious about the truckload aren't you? "

"Yes. Because Maria and Rosa are going to be preping food to go to children and you know what that means."

"Also, I want to feed the villiage, not just the childlings. The adults have been going without meals to provide for the children up till now, if I'm any judge."

"Oh" He nods at the mention "yes, I know what that means. Those two will be in a frenzy. Fine. I'll issue a challenge to the DeBukes" Amused "if that doesn't motivate your Chief Clem to bury us in squash I don't know what will"

"Hopefully not -just- squash." she says wryly "Ok, I'm going to the kitchen, and back to the meeting." And she does.

The elder and Otem are talking in their native tongue

Jess alerts Maria and Rosa to start production and what the need is, and then returns to her guests. She ensures they are aware of her presence.

Maria and Rosa hike their sleeves up. Children? They will cook a @##$ing hill side worth of food

And the Elder turns to nod to Jessica "Welcome back, Flame free"

OOC Jess would have asked them to prepare supplies, not cook; the Nunnehi have thier own ways and cuisine.

"We do and I think we are" She nods "Otem tells me We should give more on our side. He maybe right. We have a treasure we are considering lending you to aid you. More of it later though"

"How else might we help You and your people?" She inquires

"Are we in a place where we can think about mixed patrols?"

"yes" She says "At least I am sure we have a few volunteers "

"I will be one of them" Otem says , a statement of fact

"Then let us agree to that. That would help us, my County. We need warriors to work with us and protect us all from the mainland Nunnehi."

Then, "Thank you, Otem."

Otem nods, almost troll like

"Otem, you know Phobos and Demos?"

"I do. Fierce warriors both"

"Could you work with them, with Elder Crooked Path's consent, to establish mixed patrols?"

"Together yes" He nods and looks to the Elder

"Take lead in our side of this, Otem." She nods in return

"Thank you, Elder." sincerely and honestly.

"It is done" She waves it off "You are the one who should be thanked. The food you offer so quickly is generous. You have been honest with us. "

"Elder, I truly do want our people to live in peace. I believe we are stronger together than at odds. I hope the power we have in our unity will spread across what we call Feathered Serpent."

"You dream too big, young one. We will be lucky if we can hold the peace here"

"I am a big Dream." she points out reasonably "And I will happily take holding the peace we have all worked on so hard, and protecting it."

"She is a true follower of the white path, Elder" Otem says

"Thank you, I think."

The elder looks at Otem for a long moment, then sighs "True Followers do not always succeed. But it is a worthy goal. For now, peace on the pennesula if we can get it. Small steps make for large strides.. in time"

Jessica nods. "I am encouraing my appointed heir to learn what she can of the penninsula Nunnehi and prepare for ally-
ship with them."

"only briefly and it was some time ago" the snake faced woman says "I doubt she'd recall me"

"Another time" the elder says "I must alert my people to prepare for the food"

"Of course." She stands when the Elder does "I will walk you out. Would you like an honor escort from Fenix?"

"No that will not be needed" She waves

Otem frowns "You should not go alone, Elder"

"You two are far too much alike in some ways" The Elder mmms

"I am honored by the comparison. And I was attacked just today, Elder." She points out "Are you certain you are not also a target?"
