The night of Carnivale arises at Fenix, the sun settling, displays up

Jessica dresses carefully. Carnivale is not her favorite holiday (the same for other Kings, really) but this one... she has made plans. Outwardly, she has taken a hint from the Disney Robin Hood and has a velvet robe, stuffed burlap bag, and a rather tacky looking crown.

It sits askew on her horns. And, of course, a mask; this IS Carnivale.

Diego has had descression choosing a monarch, but Jess requested the court and the energy of the night could lift up and elevate. Someone they could help.

Then enters in La Cernicala, well, more than one actually. "I like the outfit" Mitra does not try to hide her voice. She's not the only La Cernicala here.

Jess nods. "Thank you. Might as well lean into it, huh?"

"Do you have protection set up if things get too rough?"

"The monarch has to be obeyed; he or she should be fine. Other than that....pranks are allowed, but outright combat?"

"True ,bad luck strikes those who hurt the fool" She nods

"We'll see." She shifts the bag in one hand. "Things just about ready?"

"Si, just about" Diego comes out, "A comical outfit, Jessica. I too, approve"

Indeed, the kitchen smells not just delicious, but fit to burst with more food while much is already out and prepared

"Thank you, Diego." she takes a deep breath, squaring up "Let me know when we're ready."

"I have to get my own costume on" He says "Did you want me in on this La Cernicala effect?"

"Up to you."

"As you like, just didn't know how many you wanted" A chuckle from the satyr, and he glances over at Mitra in her mask with horns and faux fur leggings on the swashbuckler outfit

One thing for sure... anyone who wants to be La Cernicala should be able to! Plenty of masks and horns to go around.

It turns out to be a popular, easy choice for many who just wander in without costumes. But of course, many planned weeks in advance to make their own costumes. It must be said, Encanto style outfits with flair added make a solid appearance too.

All are welcome, of course.

Diego returns, dressed as Zorro "I figured why not the original mmm?"

"Good point. Although I'm not sure I could pull off a Grandee as much as a Mumu so...."

Phobos and Demos dress as Plague and Famine, trust redcaps to make light of horsemen of doom

Jess appreciates the humor in it, actually.

The Troubadours dress as Comedy and Tragedy, but their playing is not so limited

Jess offers a small smile and nod. "Thank you for your contribution tonight." she says.

Tonto dresses as a Victorian gent, top hat, monocle, "Hurumph" he says "Hrumph"

A fond smile. "You come with your own horns, I see. Very dashing.

"Well, I will be out of work tonight you see, so I must dress for the job I hope for" the Jester says with an easy smile

Nancy comes in "Otem is here" SHe declares.

"You are a gentleman already, Tonto. Thank you for coming."

"Thank you, Nancy."

Otem comes in, dressed in..well, it looks something like this:

"I am told carnivale outfits may look something like this?" He gestures at himself

Jessica nods. "That's very nice, Otem. Looks a bit like a Brazilian Carnivale, but with your own flare."

"I looked it up on the ..internet. Perhaps it is Brazilian" HE looks it over again.

"Looks good whatever it is" Nancy admires

"It does." Jess agrees.

Tidemarch arrives. as requested at the summit, he too wears a version of the La Cernicala outfit, though obviously masculine, and with the House Colors of Varich incorporated

Vaeltilde is dressed like Elsa, and while she bows, it's clear she is eager to join Ellie and the other childlings

Jessica, of course, facilitates this; who wants to hang around with practically OLD people when you could play with friends??

Directions given, the little Aesin scampers off to join her peers

Tidemarch looks.. fond, then says "I find this glorification of an outlaw troubling, Countess, but as you see, I obey"

Jess glances to see if they have privacy.

Not too much, but they can move further back to an alcove if she wishes it

She does, wandering that way 'nonchallantly.'

He follows, getting the hint

"I thank you for that, Baron. Please remember, tonight's, um, theme is still confidential. I don't want it known I encouraged this many La Cernicala."

"You think it won't be.. deduced when most of the other holders come in dressed in this theme?"
