She takes a quick swig of water, and then trots up. A moment to tune her guitar, and she starts in on a song that has a recognizable refrain, working to make up for the lack of backup vocals and instruments with energy and hoofbeat percussion.
The lyrics are a little different, but not so much as to be unrecognizable, and even though Piper is no Bonnie Tyler, she's good.... the song starts slow.
"Where are all the Robin Hoods,
For those between the cracks,
Where's the streetwise Vigilante
To help smallfolk fight back?
Isn't there a white knight, racing on hooved speed?
Tijuana flames burn free,
But the smallfolk have a need!"
She pauses to call out, "This one goes out to La Cernicala... the original, and all of those wearing her guise, those who believe in her, and her work. WE ARE LA CERNICALA!"
"I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night
She's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast
And she's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light
She's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon
And she's gotta be larger than life
Larger than life!
Somewhere after midnight
Where not every Thane can be
When evil lurks in corners,
There's someone reaching out for me
Racing through the alleys,
And on every unknown street,
We can rely on La Cernicala to show villains defeat!"
