the Balor turns "Two against one? Odds not to my liking. Another time, La Cernícala"

And the balor leaps!

"Combatants, hold!" but, too late and without any magic behind the command.

Jessica scowls and goes to the edge to look after the sidhe.

Bloody or not, it was a good landing and the balor is already making good time

Jess takes a breath and looks around at the satyress.

She turns, and the satyress is gone. Must have left while Jessica was watching the Balor

"Damnit." She scowls, and after another look around, marches back to the street, and her patrol.

She sees some local fae have gathered and alk amonnng hemselves

She nods and, if she can, listens. Just a little. Just in case.

"La Cernícala! " "You arre sure?" "It was her!"

"First the Thallian, and now the Balor? "

They seem to act like she's a heroine

Maybe if she stops to tie her shoe she can learn more....

"Always the roof tops" "She likes to fly, La Cernícala"

"But where does she come from? Why is she protecting us when we have the Comtessa?"

"Isn't it obvious? She can bend the rules, the COmtessa is ann honorable woman, and abides by any rule she makes"

Jess finishes with her shoe, and moves away a little bit to dial her phone carefully.

She calls her sister.

It goes to voice mail "Hi. Siv King, doing her thing. Leave a message or join the 21st century and text"

"Call me, please." she says to leave a message, and then yes, carefully texts on the tiny keys. Same message.

A moment later, she gets a ring

"Hello."

"Hey sis? Everything okay? You don't often call me"

"I was just reminded of you; where are you right now?"

"Rivervale. Where else?"

"You have a ship." she points out reasonably "You could be anywhere."

"True. Do you need me to go somewhere?"

"No. Just.... checking. Do you know any tall satyr women, fighters?"

"Sure... Baron K has a thane. Heck so do you, Delfina.. and then there's one at the Count's"

An exhale. "Right. Ok. Thank, Siv."

"Is everything okay?" A worried sound

"Yeah, Siv, everything's fine. Sorry to bother you."

"No worries. Love you"

And she hangs up

Jessica scowls, although not at the phone or her sister, and hangs up too. She goes back on patrol.

Patroling after that goes smoothly

And, patrol done, she returns to Fenix.
