"Oh very well" Fonaine sighs

"We -are- part mortal. And trolls can be, um, reserved."

"Yes." with a sigh "I did say -can- be reserved...... not must."

Fawn covers a smile

"yes yes, but if you ever want to come in here with out pants, let me know, eiher of you, and I can arrannge to be gone for an hour"

"Thank you, Fontaine." To give her credit, she says it with a straight face.

"Very kind" Fawn says "It was nice meeting you"

Taking the cue, Jess stands.

"A pleasure" Fontaine grins, "A delight. to see a centaur"

"Fawn will be staying with us."

"Thank you!" Fawn trots out with Jessica, and once it's just them she says "Okay. I like him. He's quirky." A whisper "thanks for the pants warning from ellie and yourself"

"You're welcome. It took us a while to figure it out but.... it seems to work as a system."

"You have some real personalities here" she observes

That makes the stoic troll chuckle "Yes, we do. You will meet them all, in time."

"They seem good folk," She looks about "I admit, I was worried the space would be tighter, but the halls here are, well, quite ggrand."

"Thank you. That is, I can't take credit for it but I'm glad you find it welcoming."

"So far, so good," A nod "Now I guess there's a settling in period but after is there something I can't help with here? I guess I'm not one to sit on her laurels"

"I'm up to it, and point. I need to memorize that escheat backwards and forward I know. But is there a second duty?"

"I'd like you to make a light study of the dialects used in Tijuana right now. I can't recognize them reliably." she frowns, thinking.

"There.... -is- something I have a concern about."

"I'll brush up on the dialects. heck, languages can be interesting ..." A tilt of her head "What's that?"

A deep breath. "Understand this is not about -you.- I'm a bit concerned about my own lack of foresight but.... you're familiar with the mortal history of this area? European settlement?"

"I'm no historian, but yes, Mexico has a rich history predating the term Mexico. the Spanish were quite rutthless, the Aztecs no angels... andn many tribes caught by the latter empire only to end up persecuted by the new one"

She nods. "Well.... there are stories of the Spanish getting an upper-hand by appearing as supernatural creatures. Part man, part horse..... the natives never having domesticated horses, see...." a bit awkwardly.

"Oh my " Her eyes widen, "I didnn't realize"

"I didn't either, and I should have. I have -no- idea how the local Nunnehi will react but if you can speak directly to them.... it couldn't hurt?"

"I think I better bone up on some online courses if I can find them" She nods

"If they work for you, yes. Fawn..... you understand that if I have to adjust things, it's not a reflection on you? We haven't know each other long or well but you seem a good fit here."

"If you find out I'm more of a threat than I am a help, I understand if you ask me to move on" A nod "But, frankly I'm more worried about other centaurs in the area. Evenntually, maybe even now, some Latin American is going to dream dance into a centaur around here. I don't want him or her hunted"

Jessica nods. "It is possible. I have some ideas, but let me think about it. Maybe this is an opportunity."

"Just let me know if and how I can help annd I'll back you up" A smile as she opens the door to her room "Oh this is lovely, plenty of room . Someone even put in a body pillow so I can prop up ."

"Hm. That's a ... point. How do you, um, sleep?"

"on my side propped up is fine. I CAN sleep standing if I position myself perfecttly angled"

Jess nods "Well if you need more support, pillows, a.... a couch, or whatever, just let us know."

"Body pillow here should do it" She pats "And tthe matress is ground level. Works dandy."

"Ok. I'll let you get settled; good to have you here, Fawn. We'll work things out."

"Thank you, Jessica, you've been a gem" A look at her luggage "Looks like my suitcase is here and everything. Thanks for the escort"
