Olgar says "There you are" to Jessica "How goes, Jessica? "

"Good, Uncle Olgar." He gets a hug if he'll have it.

He does "You look it" A grin on his marred face, "Just dropped off Fawn. Someone told her where the Countess was... only, I think it was your ward" A chuckle "Fawn's got sense. She'll be fine"

(Since the ward has led Fawn to churros, all is well indeed)

Indeed, sounds from the kitchen indicate Ellie and Ariel (And Maria and Rosa) have the new guest in hand

"It is not hard to tell us apart." Jessica agrees. "How's everyone at Rivervale?"

"Good good. Your dad's still a pain but even he is tolerable. I'm hitting it off with one of the centaurs myself. Little Unseelie snot of a kid who I'm trying to teach not to burnn his bridges. Mixed results there... but I like him well enough. Your mom is in a better place than she was now that her people are safe again. I guess you know that Sylvi moved out to Darkgate?" A sigh "Miss her, but you know, daughters grow up on you."

"I know." Jessica says, understanding "At least she didn't join the Peace Corp." referencing her own, rather messy, first flight.

"Heh, yeah. I should be grateful she's just a trod hop or car ride away" A nod "Kerri misses her too. I think Kerri worries our little girl has veered off anything we predicted, but we got faith"

"Uncle Olgar, pretty sure my folks didn't see me here." Jessica points out all of Renaissance in an encompassing gesture.

"What can I say? I fell in love with a Seelie woman , and hearths tend towards preferring things organized." A grin "And yeah, your parents never saw this comming. It's like you and Siv both rebel by excelling in ways out of the blue." A shake of his head "But they're proud of you both. Come to think of it, they think higher of each of you than you two do of yourselves. Not sure why King wilders tend towards so unsure but maybe it works for them"

"I try not to look too closely; I end up second guessing myself."

"mm hazard of the trade of leadership I suppose" A mmph

"Come on, let me get you something to eat." Jess leads him to the kitchen, continuing "Leadership is something you know a bit about, Uncle Olgar."

"And then, you can take the churro and dip it in the hot chocolate, it is less crunchy, but then ther is chocolate and the chocolate gets cinna-minny...."

Ellie's Rapunzel dolly has also been set up with a little cup of chocolate milk.

"Hello, Ellie. Have you met my Uncle Olgar?"

Fawn turns, the grump centauress smiles "Countess Jessica I presume?"

She was dipping a churro

She looks up - there's a tiny moment, a little blink, but she covers well! "Hello, Rover Olgar." A bright smile!

"Ah! You must be Fawn. Yes, I'm Jessica King." she offers her hand.

Olgar nods "Hey, Ellie. She didn't know about Churros dipped in hot chocolate? You did her a favor teaching her. Good job"

Fawn takes the hand warmly, "A pleasure, Countess.. or do you prefer Jessica? " A smile "Either way, Siv told me to tell you I knew indigenous dialects"

The next smile is more genuine and less polite - again, the difference is subtle, but Olgar is good at reading subtle.

"Jessica, please. You do? That's great news. I'm trying to establish solid and peaceful relations with the local Nunnehi and language is a huge issue."

"They're very cautious, and fear a repeat of past invasions."

Jessica nods, agreeing.

"Well, no promise I knew the right ones" Fawn smiles "But a starting point I can get you. I know I'm still learning, but I'm told we grumps get some lee way evenn before saining so I'm happy to be of use and please don't hesitate to put me to work"

Olgar grins at the more genuine smile from the kid. "mmm " A thought "YOu kids here doing okay? Seen Unicorn Riders 2 yet?"

"What are Unicorn Riders? There's two?"

"Oh I need to get you kids the DVDs... " he raises a brow surprised that part of pop culture hadn't landed "Give me a few days and I'll drop em off. "

Jess moves around, getting Olgar a plate of REAL tamales and a beer.

"Oh, yes please!"

"Sure," Olgar shrugs "Unicorns are pretty boss. I had to work with some once" said almost causually

Ellie's purple eyes grow VERY wide.

Fawn whispers to Jessica "is he joking about working with unicorns? I mean, I guess they must be real"

"But you're a boy!"

"Boys and girls are allowed to like the same things" Olgar says , "And some unicorns are boys too. Heck, the stallions can get pretty fierce"

Jess nods. "They're real. I haven't worked with any but they are real, as real as we are."

Ellie screws up her face with almost comic skepticism about the concept of boy unicorns.

Then... a shrug and a nod. "Well, I guess unicorns would like Holger."

Olgar fights a smirk, then leans down and whispers to Ellie "If it makes you feel better? Girl unicorns outnumber boy unicorns at least 3 to 1. Probably more like 5 to 1"

Fawn acttually, smiles "How wonderful. I got to meet Peter S. Beagle once, I think he'd be delighted to know that" A pause "or perhaps he always knew"

A pert little nod. "That makes sense." With the perfect assurance of a first grader.

"There's been a bit of debate about Peter Beagle." Jessica says "He was almost certainly a Dreamer, but who was his Muse? That sort of thing. You met him? What was he like?"

"Sweet. the line was long but he took time for each autograph" She nods "He was delighted I read some of his OTHER Books" A chuckle "But didn't really complain about those who only read one"

"Hm. Ellie, do we have enough Peter S. Beagle books?"

"There's a unicorn book?"

"Does Salma have it?"
