And Jessica realizes she's about to miss Dinner and Party...leaving Duff hanging, and Kit minus the lady who promised her a party! Geez this took longer than she thought

" Sir Jack, Ihave to run. I'm sorry. Come to Fenix as quick as you can please." And she takes off.

She races in. Rarely has she asked for any help in getting ready for something but this time as she runs in she sees... Maria with a box "New set of clothes... dinner is ready... Ellie she is keeping folks amused"

"Fast shower, I'll get dressed, stall for a bit. Serve drinks!!!" as she dashes into the shower.

Thank goodness for help!

Jess has long known she'd never be able to do it all herself.

She runs a brush through her damp hair and braids it fast, pulls on a sundress and sandlals, skips make up, and heads out.

The sundress is lovely and looks quite fetching on Jessica (Though it would look better on Siv in Siv's opinion, which, coincidentally, no one asked for)

She wakes just a hot second to smooth things down before walking into dinner.

She arrives late, but not TOO late, and Duff has a drink and he turns and...admires

Jess is aware, but she makes sure to greet the guest of honor promptly.

Calandaria aka Kit smiles as the Countess makes a fuss. She's got new clothes, and seems to be rolling with almost everything told her

The welcoming troll makes sure Kit has the close support of her own kith nearby, and circulates. That might bring her closer to Duff.

Buce, Tonto and some local pooka huddle around Kit. The kids are smashing away at a pinaata

WEll, that's as it should be. She relaxes somewhat.

Duff moves to her "Everything okay?"

"Yes."she confirms, perhaps with some caution "It seems so."

"Well, Kit seems a nice young woman, she'll fit in fine if you want to keep her here. I think she's been filling the area with random nevers though. Odd that"

"You think so? New Chrysalid, fresh Glamour.....?"

"Yes, but I thought the flavor would be... less prone to Nevers. She was nearly raped. She created nightmare chimera of rapists...turned monster. now? Nevers?"

"Well.... perhaps she'll prove, um, spritely. Recover from the trauma and overcome it?" She watches the vixen from where they are.

She's enjoying some wine from Diego. She clearly has not grown up rich, for she likes the luxury.

"She seems well enough, considering. I'll follow up with her. I don't want to smother her."

"I was thinking Father V might know a therapist if she needs one" he says frowning "Pardon. Not my business"

"No, it's a good point. I'll keep it in mind."

"Now, music is playing, and you are wearing a sundress. I think this calls for us to dance. Seems almost .. dare I say it? A duty?" He offers his hand

"A sundress doesn't -require- dancing. I'm not sure any form of dress does......"

"Oh Ocean eyes, don't you realize how amazing you are in motion?"

"N... no. I mean, I think -you- think so."

"Well, I'm very intelligent so we should go with me on this I think"

She takes his hand.

"Thank you" He kisses it, then whirls her into a dance. By now, Bevera knows some of Jessica's favorite music and plays some suited to dancing

And by now, Jessica knows how to dance with Duff.

They dance well together, and the bale loops a bit as if to encourage her to relax and enjoy the happiness of the hold

It -is- difficult to stay too tense with so many Never flitting around.

Which is why redcaps have been known to use them as stress balls. Just grab and squeeze

Ellie offers the Nevers candy. This is possibly unwise.

Oh dear.

Salma seems unnerved by them, until one perches on her head, peering at her book, and turns a page for her. She snorts, but starts reading quietly aloud. Sure, that first never quickly lost attention, but as they flicker past, some stop to listen, and that's enough to endear them to her a little.
