It's always nice to have Mitra visit

Even if it means that she wants a sparing match while they talk

"Sorry, Jessica, I don't want you sloppy" The sword moves with increased speed, time at the Pitt has hones its regent to an even deadlier warrior

Jessica comments on the same. "You've gotten better."

"Thank you. Shard and others keep me on my toes," She says "And you'd be surprised how many folks want to duel the regent of a fighting ring. Or maybe you wouldn't. " Amused "You're getting better for accuracy, but we need to work on your reaction time"

"I use a maul."she points out "There's a swing time."

"Then we need to make sure you are the fastest Maul in all of Mexico" She says "Really, you're as stubborn as Tweak, whose second kid is adorable too by the way. I swear, I thought Shuri was a fluke , but as cute as BOTH are now, I'm starting to wonder if there's nothing in genetics"

"Shuri has all the potential of being a terror." Jessica points out. "And trolls are supposed to be stubborn."

"I think trolls use that as an excuse to annoy sidhe" She says doging the swing, "I mean, that's a sidhe point of view on it since, after all, it's always about us."

"Ever lived at a Lodge?" Jess asks, knowing the answer as she comes back on guard.

Jessica's guard is wise and she blocks the incoming blow

"No. I just assumed every troll lodge had a small shrine dedicaed to the local sidhe lord? Maybe a litle altar in the corner?"

Jessica snorts. "And you've never been to Firnost."

"Actually I have, but the only altar there is of some troll.." A pause "NO! one of yours?"

Jess pulls back, signalling a break in the sparring. "My mother."

They do break and Mitra laughs "Let me guess.- she hates that thing"

"Vehemently." Jessica confirms.

"I'm so sorry" She chuckles "I should be sympathetic and I am but I'm also tickled. Oh my. Never ever tell that story to a pooka around here or you know they'll try to make a statue of you"

Jess winces. "I know."

Sympathy "Well I won't do it to you. If it helps, and since you've confided, one of the pooka in MY area.. ugh I wanted to slaughter her"

"What happened?" Jess is genuinely concerned for her friend as they take a break and get some water.

"Apparently you're not the only one folks try to match make now and then, and at least you have a regular fellow and it's known. Guess who put me down on a dating site?"

"Oh no... Mitra, I'm so sorry....."

"Most of them were just desperate... but ONE guy became a stalker. " A shake of her head "If I were an ordinary mortal woman I would have had trouble"

"Was this guy Fae or mortal?"

"Mortal" she says "Don' worry, I didn't kill him. I ordered the same pooka who signed me up to help me give him a 3 ghosts before Christmas treatment"

"Sounds like maybe the pooka got off easy."

"Oh she also got to train with me in the ring for a week"

"Ah." That explains it.

"She whined a lot but did not put other people on dating sites again. How is Dame Ash doing as your right hand? I understand mosly she's wrangling young Ellie?"

"Yes, and doing very well." Jessica frowns "I meant to get her out of the tutoring business, though."

"She hasnn't complained about it, at least not to me if that's what your'e worried about"

"No, but we talked about it and she's right. I need to find a -teacher-."

Mitra ponders "Given your tour, the holidays and other things it's natural that wasn't a must do"

"Well, no excuse now."

"Mmm okay. Sounds like we're ending sparring early to handle this. Let me help you out?"

"We can finish sparring, especially if you think I need work. Do you know a teacher?"

"I know a few contacts who work in education, more of I know a guy who mgiht know a guy'

"I'll take it. When we're done."

"Well then," She resumes her stance "En guarde"

Jessica nods, puts the water down, and reenters the ring. She goes on guard.

And the two rather enjoy the mutual tests and chance to improve
