The servants get to it. Vaeltilde beams a bit at the praise.

Jessica lifts her glass and salutes the Baron.

Salma beams at her, and sneaks a pastry from her pocket back up on Vaeltilde's plate!

The Baron nods and conversation is perhaps less polltical, but some notes of import come up. Mer activity on the increase. Conversation about Pennons.

Jessica is interested in the Mer information, and will coordinate on Pennons; she suggests a Pennons counsel to ensure a holiday that will serve to identify warriors for later needs, if any.

"Of course, Capataz Tweak will insist on crafting having it's due, but she did enjoy the car race" Mmm

"I will insist on the same; crafting is vital. And yes, she did. I don't know if she'll compete again this year or just... oversee."

"knowing Tweak?" He says "If anyone speaks of her being 'lucky' she will move heaven and Earth with a very long lever to show them wrong." A bit of humor?

"Agreed." Jess nods.

Vaeltilde talks to the girls "Are you all excited for PEnnons?"

"Oh, I hadn't thought much about Pennons."

"They can be fun. I wonder if there will be competitions for childlings?"

Ariel says "Let's find out" SHe turns and calls out "Chief Jessica? Can Pennons have compeitions for the kids??"

Jessica nods. "Childling competitions are often included. I will ask the counsel to consider it strongly."

"Thank you!" Ariel says, then looks at Ellie "What?"

Vaeltilde has put her face in her hands

"Well... I guess it worked out.."

"What if it didn't?" Vaeltilde says in her hands

"What worked out?" Ariel says "We wanted to know, we felt it was right, and we followed our hearts" Satyr enthusiasm

"Well, you have to be careful when dining... there's rules..."

"Right. Don't reach across the table when you can ask polite. No trash talking. Eat your greens too" A pause "I don't always follow that last one"

"You must eat everything."

"If you don't, you might insult a cook."

"But what if you don't like everything? Then is it okay?" Ariel says

Jessica is eating, listening.

"It's simply not done" Vaeltilde says

"A lady mustn't."

"It's okay in private, but not like this."

Ariel eyes the caviar with a dubious face

"Oh, it's salty! That;s good stuff."

"Quite delicious" A nod from Vaeltilde

"You can have mine" Ariel counters

“Is it a jam?” Salma looks dubious.

"More like fish eggs" Vaeltilde says

"Fishberry jam."

Ariel makes a face

"I bet the Mer like it."

Ariel arches a brooow at her "We don't know that"

Jessica hears others voices too.. "how are the unseelie houses supposed to embrace harmony when she won't let us near her hold?" "I don't care what anyone says, it takes guts for her to come here" "ugh, is that the smell of Beaumayn?"

She takes NOTE of that last comment and who it came from.
