"Only sometimes." She reassures.

"I'm Storm here, Pert" He says glancing back at the woman.

"I would not mess with you for all the world, but goodness, they ARE Kids. Is a storm required? Let me handle them.. before you terrify them for life" The woman seems about thirty six

"They claim they're here to trade with the Hearth but all they have are kittens and pig cookies" He puts it IN Pert's hand

"él es un huracán." She whispers to Ellie, not too quiet. A little intimidated.

"Ramona is a stowaway, she is not for trading!"

"Ariel said storms are defenders. Um. Las tormentas protegen la granja.."

"Ariel talks too freely" Murray says , "And Sidhe are the ones I usually have to defend against."

Pert says "Let me? Murray I'll take responsiblity"

Head-tilt. "Do you have Balor here? They're very bad." She nods.

"Fine. Under your charge, for now. If they Dictum, if they LOOK at someone funny, I will deal with them as if they were adults. Sidhe souls awren't like ours. " ANd he looks at Ellie and says "Most balor who come here don't fare well. You do what Pert says for now. And no soveriegn. Understood? Or I will see it as an attack"

"No sovereign? Okay. I know the escheat."

"I shall TRY, but sometimes people just do what I say without meaning to." She says to the kinain.

Pert moves to the girls "Hey, Girls. My name's Pert, Pert DeBuke. You can call me Miss DeBuke if you like though there are a lot of us so Pert is fine. Your kitten okay?"

"Ramona is Very Naughty."

"Ramona, say hello to Miss DeBuke." She holds the kitten out to the woman.

Ramona eyes the tall stranger with distrust and...

then Pert touches her and Ramona just starts purring as she collects the kitten "Oh aren't you a pretty girl"

The cat has turned boneless and purring, as sweet as butter

"Now, what were your names again, Please?" Pert says now stroking the cat

"I'm Ellie, and this is Salma, and I think she may have forgotten some of her english."

"I bet her English is better than my Spanish" Pert says kindly.

"...Do you have cows? Ariel said there were cows AND chickens..."

A nod. "Her spanish is very good! She's teaching me."

"We do have cows, and chickens" Pert nods

"Caballos, un limon palletas. And scary things. I do not know if the song Neema taught works on THAT storm."

"Salma, they tengo vacas y pollos."

"Tango?"

"Murray is looking out for us all, but good doesn't always mean nice" Pert advises, "Follow me, please. You wanted to trade with the hearth, so we'll see okay?"

"It's like Phobos and Demos, they're guards and they're scary."

All around them are signs of life of the sort that they only really knew in story books like Charlotte's web. Folks working hard on the earth. Crops so tall you could get lost in it.

Ellie looks all around with big eyes, and squeaks when she spots REAL COWS. Point!

Yup, there they are, to the side, the COWS!

"Do not scare them, or they'll have milkshakes." Also grinning!

Pert chuckles at that "I think your english is very good, Salma"

Salma reaches over to pat Miss Pert on the arm, explaining, "My Princesca, she grew up on a farm, with all of the animals. She is bored but is trying to be polite, si?"

The animals seem to react to Pert... the Cows watch her fondly. Ramona behaves. Even the birds in the air sing a bit happier around her.

Seemingly regaining fluency now that the scare has passed.

"Miss Pert, are you a princess?"

Pert smiles sadly "At one time I thought I was, but it turned out my choice of Prince decided he was wrong. "

"Oh, that's sad. But the animals all like you..."

"Si... Blanca Nieves... oh no!" Salma looks terribly sad! "A broken corazón..."

And she leads them to the cows "Now pet them gently on the side... they'll behave while I'm here. It's a faeblood gift I have. Animals find me soothing"

"Have you seen Frozen? Sometimes the first one, he is no good." A sage nod.

"Oh! What a nice magic to have!"

Ellie hesitates. "She's so big..."

"ALas, by the time Frozen came out, it was too late" Pert says to Salma "But I'm glad the word is out"

Pert nods "Yes, yes she is, and you must respect that... but cows tend to be gentle creatures unless you panic a herd or the like.. or threaten a calf"

"It is never too late for true love... is it?" A small frown. A hand reaches out to pat the cow gently - maybe they like their ears scratched in a spot she knows.
